Best Special Beginner :

Thanks to the Society for inviting me to judge and also to my stewards, Jane and Louise, for keeping things running smoothly.    Hard to make a valuable assessment with this entry particularly when you only have 3 males entered and 1 absent on the day.   All the entrants were well presented.  Couple of things I noticed were light eyes seem to be creeping in and it does spoil the expression so.   Bites were good, and whilst I am not a tooth fanatic there were a couple with missing molars – this needs to be watched.  I also found some who were rather long and over angulated in the hocks. Thanks to my BOB, BP and BV winners for staying for their respective groups – you all represented the breed well.

Class 1412 SBD/B NO ENTRIES

Class 1413 VD/B (3 Entries) Abs: 0
1st: 3174 AMON, Ms W Ch Mystarz Lavish Loitsu to Pepperthyme – 7½ year bitch – appealing head and expression with a dark eye. Good mask markings, well set ears. Strong neck into good lay of shoulder, excellent front, level topline and strong hindquarters.  Moved well.  BV

2nd: 3179 DRINKWATER, Mrs P J Trykeira Daleesha – another 7½ bitch.  Quite similar to first with a pretty head, alert expression, well set mobile ears.   Slightly upright in upper arm and her topline could be better.   In good condition and moved well around the ring.

3rd: 3181 PRICE, Mrs J Starvon You Got It At Coningsbear (ShCM) (VW) – at nearly 10 years old retains many excellent qualities with a good wedged shaped head with correct stop good dark eye,  well placed ears.   Topline OK with good body proportions, could have a bit more muscle tone all over.  Moved well around the ring.   RDCC

Class 1416 PGD NO ENTRIES
Class 1417 LD NO ENTRIES

Class 1418 OD (1 Entries) Abs: 0
1st: 3180 JONES, Mr K M A Ch Tanellis Bloomin William – 5½ male who I have seen from the ringside and was glad to get the chance to judge him.   Masculine outline with a good wedged shaped head, dark eyes and well used ears.  Strong neck into good shoulders, reasonable front but could have a little more width.   Excellent topline and broad croup, well muscled hindquarters. Moves well and presents a good profile, a little narrow coming towards me on the move which was the deciding factor for BOB.   Well presented and a worthy Champion.  Happy to award him the DCC.

Class 1419 GCD/B NO ENTRIES

Class 1420 PB (2 Entries) Abs: 0
1st: 3175 AMON, Ms W Pepperthyme Wild Fire – at 10 months old this young bitch has a lot of potential.   Loved her overall shape and outline, sturdy and robust she is all Swedish Vallhund.  Lovely head and expression with well set ears, dark eye and alert expression. Strong neck to well laid shoulders and good front and feet.  Level topline which she held on the move, well muscled hindquarters and moved very well around the ring.   BP and one to watch for the future.

2nd: 3182 PRICE, Mrs J & PRICE, Ms R M Valltineya Galadriel – just six months so giving a bit away in age at this stage.  Pleasing head which is developing well but her light, rounder eye detracts from her expression.   Good body proportions and her topline was good. Moved well for her age.  Enjoying her day.

Class 1421 JB (1 Entries) Abs: 0
1st: 3176 BARNES, Ms L & KING, Miss I Starvon Fame Awaits For Izlou – 15 month old who was well handled and presented. Alert and attentive she does catch your eye and I can see why she has won so well already.   Head of good proportions with good mask markings, dark eye but could be less round, well placed ears.   For me lacks that slight bend of leg to wrap around the ribs and looks too straight for me.  Level topline held well on the move.  Strong hindquarters which she uses on the move.   Looks exactly as she should for her age in that teenage phase but has the potential to mature on.

Class 1422 PGB (1 Entries) Abs: 0
1st: 3177 BORLINGHAUS, Miss Britt & MCCANN, Mr Paul Pepperthyme Star – of very good type. I liked her very feminine head and lovely expression, eye good shape could be slightly darker, ears correct and she used them to her advantage, lovely strong neck into good shoulders and front.  Well balanced body with a good spring of rib, well carried tail and good hindquarters.

Class 1423 LB (1 Entries) Abs: 0
1st: 3173 AMON, Ms W Pepperthyme a Star is Born – litter sister to winner of PG and similar remarks apply.   I liked this bitch very much but she decided to come in her summer dress!  Alert, pretty feminine head with everything correct good ear set giving a good expression, good neck into correct shoulders and good width to front.  Well proportioned body and excellent condition.  Strong hindquarters and well marked coat.

Class 1424 OB (2 Entries) Abs: 0
1st: 3185 ZBILUT, Mr S & ZBILUT, Miss Sophie & YACOMEN, Miss Ch Ohanaway She’s A Rebel – not the biggest of girls but everything in proportion.  Lovely head and expression with well set ears and dark eye.   Good front with enough width and feet.  Well laid shoulders, level topline and strong hindquarters.  Powerful mover.  Well handled to take BCC and BOB.

2nd: 3178 DAY, Mrs Joanna,  Starvon Binit Sinit Dunit with Kirkholme – 6 year old bitch. Larger than one but she really doesn’t make the best of herself.   Lovely head of correct proportions and when she used them well set ears.   Excellent body proportions, well muscled hindquarters, good bone and feet.  Moves well but today she just didn’t want to be here.   That said, her overall quality and breed type could not be ignored for the RBCC.
