Many thanks to those that entered, I really enjoyed judging the breed and it must be noted the sporting nature of all exhibitors, everyone ringside seemed supportive of all the winners.

My mother kindly reminded me of my first experience of Toller’s back in the mid 70’s at National Gundog. The late Joe Braddon judged a class of them, I believe both he and National Gundog with censured by the KC. We’d only just heard of the breed here in the UK and nobody really believed the breed existed in those days. It was a novelty class, with I believe Mark Boswell winning, with a push along fox terrier on wheels. I was 2nd with a Cocker spaniel in an orange fur suit. It was a hot day as well, poor dog. Shows weren’t as serious in those days.

In general I felt the dogs were a little ahead of the bitches, with many being to light in frame and lacking the substance and spring of rib asked for in the standard. Dentition was generally good with a few exceptions. Colour and pigmentation were good.

VD (2)
1st: Strevens’s Sh Ch Erikachen Conaire At Tollisty JW Sh.CM ShCEx. DCC. A dog at his best, in full coat, colour and maturity. Masculine clean head with correct slight wedge. Correct almond eye with a good ear set and size. Clean neck and shoulders into a straight front with correct feet. Well boned. Good spring of rib and just enough tuck up. Correct topline into a well made rear with a well let down hock. I preferred his overall balance and kept in profile on the move.
2nd: Anstead’s Sh Ch Multi Riverwatcher Atka. Carrying a little too much weight across the shoulder today. A pleasing masculine head and expression with clean skull, slight doom, well set ear and correct size. Well set apart almond eye. Straight front with good bone and tight well arched feet. Correct colour with matching pigmentation. A well made rear with a good let down. Moved away well, just tended to lose his topline when stood.

PD (1)
1st: Parr’s Very Much Kymin Of Great Pleasure (Imp Bel). A very raw 10 month old. A well made frame but just needs to drop into himself. Good straight front with enough bone and correct feet. Rich colour and correct pigmentation. His head needs to break which should come with age. Moved away well keeping a level topline on the move. Certainly bright and alert.

JD (2)
1st: Greenwood’s Coedhelyg Son Shine. A clean wedge shaped muzzle with a correct almond eye. Well set ear and correct size. Into clean neck and forehand. Straight front, with correct round feet with well arched toes. Correct bone with a good spring of rib. Lost his topline over the loin on the move. Moved well enough with correct tail carriage and set. Good colour and pigmentation.
2nd: Stait’s Afonbach Balerion. A well made boy with a well balanced make and shape. Good front construction and lay of shoulder. Well made rear construction with well bent stifle. Would have liked better dentition. Head needs to break, which should come with age.

PGD (6)
1st: Parr & Powney’s Spriterufus Tango in Kymin. Not in the fullest of coats, but I preferred his clean outline. Moved well and kept a balanced picture in profile. Clean neck into a straight front with correct round, well arched feet. Good spring of rib into a strong loin. Reasonable back end construction. Would have liked a little more drive from behind. Good almond eye and wedge shape and broad skull.
2nd: Elkin’s Tollelkin Dream Harbour JW. Made a better pair with 1st a similar type. Good bone and feet. Like a slightly better lay of shoulder. Well ribbed and good loin kept his topline. Pleasing head with a well set ear.
3rd: Ryder’s Arthundur Dream Come True

LD (5)
1st: Adshead & Adshead’s Afonbach Winter Is Coming JW. I preferred the overall size and quality of head. Correct colour and matching pigment. Straight front and good bone and round feet. Wedge shaped head with a broad skull, correct almond eye. Well sprung rib and depth into a strong well filled loin. Well let down behind with correct angulation. Moved well enough both ways.
2nd: Strevens’s Tollisty You Can't Decline. A slightly smaller dog and slightly longer in the loin. Good rich colour and correct pigmentation. I preferred the head and eye, ear set and size. Well made front construction with a good lay of shoulder into a good depth of brisket. Moved well enough.
3rd: Rogers’ Eusanit Peaky Blinder.

OD (6)
1st: Westwood & Westwood’s Ir Sh Ch Eusanit Proper Job JW. RCC. A typey dog, good size and plenty to him. A masculine boy. Like a slightly kinder eye, to soften the expression, well set ear and correct size. Round broad skull. Good bone and straight front into round feet. Well ribbed and strong loin. Correct colour and matching pigmentation. Correct topline and correctly set tail. Well let down behind. Moved with ease and some drive.
2nd: Fielder’s Schindow Junior Cowboy with Cretshengan. Would have liked a more typey expression. However well balanced throughout. Good bone and round feet. Another with a good spring of rib and depth of brisket into a strong loin. Correct topline and tailset and carriage on the move. Moved well enough both ways.
3rd: Wakely & Wakely’s Riverwatcher Kaviksuk

VB (4)
1st: Adshead & Adshead’s Sh Ch Danehaven Vermilion For Afonbach Sh.CM VW. Good rich colour and matching pigmentation. A very feminine bitch who I preferred the overall balance of this bitch. Correct slight wedge with clean lines.  Feminine correct set eye, with well set ear, correct size. Straight front with correct bone and feet. Good strong topline and loin, into a well set tail with correct carriage on the move. Well let down behind and drove off with some purpose and drive.
2nd: Fielder’s Ir Sh Ch Eusanit Best of the Bunch at Cretshengan. A pleasing feminine bitch just carrying a little too much across her waist which slightly spoilt her balance. Well bone and good round feet. Another with good rich colour and pigment. A kind expression with a nice eye. Well sprung rib and depth of brisket. Well let down behind. And happy on the move with correct tail carriage, coming from its correct set.
3rd: Anstead’s Sh Ch & Int Sh Ch Riverwatcher Pikpaktuk JW

JB (3)
1st: Adshead & Adshead’s Afonbach Syrax JW. RCC. I preferred the overall make, shape and balance. Plenty of substance to her as well. Good bone and feet, with a slight slope to strong pasterns. Well ribbed back and good depth of brisket to the elbow. Slight wedge shaped head with a well set almond eye, with a pleasing expression. Ear, well set back of a medium size. Good strong topline and kept her balance in profile on the move.
2nd: Warren’s Afonbach Dreamfyre at Shorrocks. Not quite the substance of 1st but felt made a better pair with 1st. Similar type. Good bone and round feet. Good topline and loin with correct tail carriage on the move. Moved well enough both ways. Not quite the work in the head which should come with age.
3rd: Westwood & Westwood’s Eusanit Orchard Thieves

PGB (5)
1st: Trickett & Trickett’s CFyre's High Tea at Tollpepper (Imp Can) JW. A well-presented bitch with everything in the right places, but just lacks on maturity at this stage. A pretty feminine head with correct slight wedge shape, Kind expression with correct almond eye, well set apart. Broad skull with clean cheeks. Little broad in front with good boner and slight slope to the pastern into round feet. Good depth of brisket and slight tuck up. Strong topline into a well made rear construction and well let down at the hock. Nice and composed on the move with good foot placement and some drive. Just needs some coat to finish off the picture.
2nd: Greenwood’s Coedhelyg Jingle Bell Rock. Like a little more substance to this one. Good straight bone and round feet. Well ribbed with a correct topline. Well let down behind and when she pulls herself together making a pleasing picture in profile on the move.
3rd: Elkin’s Tollelkin Dream Dancer JW

LB (9)
1st: Smith’s Tivalake Anything Goes at Tollisty JW. I preferred the overall balance, make and shape of this bitch to 2nd. A well made behind and drove off with some drive on the move away. A well let down hock. A little wide in front coming towards you. Feminine head and expression with correct wedge shaped head, clean lines with no cheekiness. Well set apart almond eye. Good medium sized ear and well set and carried.
2nd: Hughes’ Eusanit Gem Stone At Abacot. Not quite the rear construction of 1st. and would have liked a little better lay of shoulder. Well ribbed and strong loin. Good straight front with correct bone and feet. Good coat and matching pigmentation. The handler certainly got the best from this bitch.
3rd: Fielder’s Cretshengan Signy.

OB (8)
1st: Anstead’s Sh Ch Riverwatcher Koda. CC & BOB. A good size class with some quality bitches exhibited. I preferred the substance and make and shape of this bitch today. A feminine head with a well set almond eye. Clean lines with correct wedge shape. Broad skull with ears well set back of correct size and carriage. Good bone and round feet, with slight slope top pastern. Well ribbed with good depth of brisket to elbow. Slight tuck up into a super rear construction. Good bend of stifle into a well let down of hock. A strong level topline, with a well set tail and carriage on the move. Free open gait with some drive coming from that well made rear. A quality bitch full of breed type and maturity with a full coat to create the whole picture. She won out for BOB because of her more free flowing movement in profile.
2nd: Westwood & Westwood & Mcdonald’s Sh Ch / Ir Sh Ch Eusanit Gonna Make You A Star. Another bitch deserving of her title. A pleasing feminine head and expression. Clean line and no cheekiness, Well set apart almond eye. Broad skull and well set medium sized ear. Rich coat colour and matching pigmentation. Well made front with good bone and round feet. Well ribbed with a good tuck up strong loin into a well made rear and kept her topline on the move with correct tail carriage and set. Well handled.
