Judging: Gundog Group, Lagotto Romagnolo

LKA CH SHOW

Lagotto Romagnolo

Thank you for accepting me as a judge. I did your first seminar in 2016 & since then (nearly 10 years!) have only judged the breed twice!  I have given one a group at a ch show & of course seen many in stakes & varieties, but I am not in a hurry to push & was honoured being able to go over some top quality dogs today, I can honestly say I enjoyed my day in good company.

PD (2,1a) 1 Whittick's Allsong Jelly Bean, brown/roan 9 months old who is advanced for age, very balanced & a nice type, good body proportions & although alone, his quality is such that he will win well for his balance, coat & presentation, showed & moved well on well boned legs & feet, good head proportions with well set ears & a good muzzle, very promising & quality all through. BP. JD (0) PGD (3,1a) 1 Sharp's Bedeslea Prada Milano, half brother to PD & litter brother to BOB, this square, well made dog is just right for size, moved so well on well boned legs & feet, nice type & he is quality, excellent head & expression with a good eye & correct pigmentation, good neck & shoulders, topline good with a well set tail, put down in a good coat but still rustic & not too sculptured, just right & showed well to win. Also Best Special Beginner; 2 Thomas' Arcticbreeze On The Double (ai), just a touch longer than ideal but still young & has time to tighten up, has a nice masculine head & expression with a good eye of the correct colour for coat, moved well on well boned legs & feet, good topline & a good tailset which is carried high but not too high to distract & certainly not touching the back, just enjoying his day. Moved well & had a good head carriage in profile. LD (2) 1 Willott's Arcticbreeze On Vacation, balanced showdog who appealed for his breed type & balance, not an overlarge dog, just right for me, still masculine but cobby & square, where he won was on his movement for he covered the ground effortlessly with a good head carriage & correct topline & well set & carried tail. Masculine head & expression with a good eye of the correct shape & colour & good pigmentation, excellent neck & shoulders, strong topline held set up & moving, really appealed for type to take BD; 2 Cuddy & Norbury's Bedeslea Prada Paradoxe, litter brother to BOB but not quite so developed, he is taller & at present just lacks the balance I was looking for. I think he still has to finish for his head is masculine & well presented, good neck & shoulders, strong topline & tailset, in excellent coat & condition & a sound mover who covered the ground well. He is quality & showed well here. OD (4, 2) 1 Whittick's  Arcticbreeze Turbulence at Allsong, brown/white of a good size & proportion, giving a good  masculine outline both set up & moving, he is a nice type & quality all through, balanced & put down in a good coat & condition, which is rustic & not too sculptured, which I appreciated, could see him working for he was full of energy & when he moved this he did with purpose & style on well boned legs & feet, masculine head & expression with a good eye of the correct colour & shape. RBD; 2 Mort's Il Granaio Dei Malatesta Rublo at Arcticbreeze, taller white male who was well groomed to the minute, the coat is correct with an undercoat too, very typical outline, very masculine in outlook, he is balanced & has a masculine head & expression, good eye of a nice shape & colour, good pigmentation, lovely forequarters, topline & tailset, well muscled & moved so well particularly in profile.  GCD (2) 1 B Prada Milano; 2 B Prada Padoxe. SBD (0) VD/B (2) 1 Mort's Il Granaio Dei Malatesta Strawberry Syrup at Arcticbreeze, pretty bitch who moved so well at 8 years, in good coat of the correct texture & length, god forehand & hindquarters, she is balanced & square with a beautiful head & expression, showed & moved well, dam of BD, & the same quality all through. BV; 2 Nelson's Mizani Dioro over Savio, masculine brown dog who moved OK, just a touch loose in front but he is 9, so I can forgive that for he is very typy with a masculine head & expression, in good coat, well presented, of the correct texture with an undercoat, good topline & tailset, good depth of ribcage & good loin & hindquarters.
PB (5,3) 1 Cox's  Amadar Wake Up Little Susie, pretty brown baby of just 9 months, she is well made & showed like a veteran to win her class, such a pretty head & expression with a kind eye of a good shape, lovely, well placed ears, good neck, good forehand & topline leading to a well set & carried tail, nice hindquarters, correct coat for one so young, she is square & balanced & with maturity I am sure has a good future, moved well on well boned legs & feet, BPB; 2 Davis' Nelbekio Loyal Lara at Hesslewell (bc2), brown/white girl of 10 months, she is square & a good type. Needs time to settle & to mature up, a bit close in front at present but when she moves this is corrected, so time will improve this. She is balanced & very feminine with a lovely head & expression, well made all through & put down in a lovely coat which is maturing nicely. She have a good future when is grows into her body for she has potential. JB (2,1) 1 Dickenson's   Shelanio In The Mood (bc1), half sister to Lara in the previous class & the same good type, this white/brown youngster is a cracking bitch who is so feminine & moved so well, she is a lovely type & balanced, although alone she will be winning well I am sure, put down in lovely coat & condition, still looks rustic but she is square & has excellent proportions throughout, feminine head & expression with a good eye of the correct shape & colour, correct leg length to balance. PGB (4,2) 1 Bishop's Bedeslea Prada Linea Rossa, yet another from this super litter, how lucky are all the owners to have such quality in depth, this balanced brown moved & showed well, such a nice type, she is just on size for me but is so very feminine, there would be no mistaking her sex, such a pretty head & expression with a good eye, put down in a good coat & in lovely muscular condition, good neck, shoulder, topline & tailset, good hindquarters but where she wins in when she moves round the ring with good head carriage & holding her topline & in profile she looks great, showed well to win here & also to be Best Special Beginner; 2 Robinson's Arcticbreeze Secret Agent Del Rigrunner, this girl has potential for the show ring but she just needs some help with her presentation & attention to her nails for this spoils her movement, she is worth the effort for she is well made with a pretty head, a good eye & nice pigmentation, well muscled & a lovely temperament. LB (2,1) 1 Norbury's Bedeslea Pradasphere JW, what a cracking bitch to complete this litter! she is quality & balanced, she is just right for all althrough because she is still young & has so much to look forward to. Beautiful head & expression, well set & carried ears, good neck & shoulders, correct topline & well set tail, lovely ribcage with good proportions, strong loin & well muscled hindquarters, when she moved she gives you goosebumps, in profile she has the correct head carriage, well held topline & covered the ground with ease & determination using her well boned legs & feet with precision. Thrilled to have the chance to judge her & I would be surprised if she isn't made up when the CCs really get going. BB & BOB. OB (2) 1 Mort's Arcticbreeze One And Only, what a mover this white is & still so very feminine, she is a nice type & quality all through, such a feminine head &  expression with a good eye of the correct shape & colour, she is well coated & of the correct texture & undercoat, she is square with a correct depth of ribcage & a strong loin enabling a strong topline held on the move & set up, well boned legs & fet which enabled her to cover the ground correctly & with ease. RBB; 2 Nelson's Nelbekio Just The Ticket, this brown has a lot to like including her feminine head with a good eye of a nice colour & shape, well set & carried ears, good neck & shoulders, good topline & well set tail, very feminine all through & a good size & good proportions, enough coat of the correct texture, moved well & showed with panache at the end of a long day for the dogs. GCB (1) 1 N Just The Ticket. SBB (3,2) 1 B Prada Linea Rossa.
