My thanks to stewards Helen and Catherine. It was a real pleasure and joy to judge this nice entry and I hope exhibitors appreciated being first in the ring for a change! So good to learn this is the last show where the breed is to undergo the “vet check” congratulations to bloodhound breeders on having reached this milestone after all your hard work and commitment, needless to say my BOB sailed through to the group. The progress results were evident in the ring on the day with excessive wet eyes and any significant eye restrictions not on show, I respectfully suggest movement is the next area for improvement perhaps. Exhibits were cleanly presented generally in solid well covered body condition many with first class muscling. Ears were all clean and no skin irritations detected. Thank you to all exhibitors for accepting of my decisions so sportingly. Hopefully I will find time to see some of you again out in the trails fields this year otherwise if not best wishes for the new show era with your lovely unique breed.

1.Burnside – Houndseeker Forceful (AI)
Ten months promising developing head full nostrils preferred his solid front at present to the second placed exhibit. Excellent strength of bone well knuckled feet needs time to continue to body in condition. Thick long tapering tail moved acceptably for a young puppy sweeping profile action stood well over the ground, BPD.
2. Prior – Hounseeker Falcon (AI)
Litter brother to winner a quality head with clean eyes dignified expression that I preferred to the winner with longer ears and more body on show than the winner. Squarely built outline good depth of brisket needs to tighten on the move in my opinion.

1.Adshead – Farlap Kashmir
Twelve months most pleasing head proportions skull length to muzzle full nostrils on show dark eye colour of good shape size and set. Super straight solid true front well boned plenty of depth and width evident presented in excellent overall condition for his age. Lengthy ears thick tail skin folds present in appropriate places unexaggerated. Another needing time to settle on the move at present I my view.

1.Clark – Farlap Keepsake
Twelve months most pleasing head qualities with good length noble expression clean well-shaped and set eyes nostril wide ears long hanging correctly stood on the best of solid straight bone and firm well-padded feet. Impressive stretching flowing profile action drive from powerfully muscled hindquarters sound mover, covered the ground well standing and moving pleased to award RCC, congratulations.
2. Bates – Marksbury Rockerfella At Karames
Two years two months another lovely headed masculine dog well balanced head skull to muzzle full nostrils good depth of body and condition excellent firm topline. Well sprung ribcage thick long tail well set powerful hindquarters with deep second thighs. Moved a tad wide in front on the day I considered.

1.Prior – Houndseeker Dauntless JW
Rising two and a half years powerful red dog heavy bone excellent depth of brisket well sprung ribcage thick tail super short weatherproof coat solid shoulders long ears clean eyes but head rather heavy for me with excessive depth of stop detracting from his expression and slightly excessively folded skin in my opinion. Moved essentially soundly though another tending a tad wide in front on the day in my opinion.

1.Howie – Ch. Marksbury Malfoy
Five years nine months noble and dignified expression powerful appearance standing and moving lovely balanced chiseled masculine head eyes clear wide open nostrils excellent overall angulation neck long correctly set into well placed shoulders solid back firm topline well sprung ribcage with depth and length powerful wide and very firm across the loins with slight arch a sweeping ground covering powerful mover supple thick skin with folds where appropriate not quite in full coat for me on the day and tail not totally straight but easily forgiven in an exhibit of this super quality tail positive in action front and rear a most lovely mature bloodhound most deserving of CC & BOB, congratulations.
2. Priestley – Marksbury Railway Of Quikotic
Two years two months another lovely maturing dog more compact in build than the winner with the best of solid bone and tight well padded and knuckled feet excellent lay of shoulder long strong neck firm topline held well on the move. Presented in better textured coat condition and tail finish than the winner in my opinion but not quite as mature a picture on the day and appearing slightly listless on the move in my view.

1.Burnside – Houndseeker Enchanted
Eleven months balanced breed typical outline with slight length of body most promising proportionate feminine head and expression very well constructed overall clean clear eyes firm topline most pleasing solid body condition for her age with super hindquarter muscling sound on the move my clear BP on the day, congratulations.
2. Rowland – Castledee Santa Baby
Eleven months a very well angulated and moving young bitch which won her the position on the day compact body but a tad short in ribcage I considered excellent bone and tight well-padded feet. Lovely clean overall outline clear eyes well set firm topline pleasing coat texture.
3. Burnside – Houndseeker Firefly
Ten months balanced attractive head with lots of promise good strong bone lovely depth of body for her age feet well knuckled and padded powerfully muscled hindquarters for a puppy. Still needs time to tighten all round on the move in my opinion.

1.Hayden & Clark – Farlap Krumble
Twelve months another lovely headed exhibit from this breeding feminine balanced with dignified expression lengthy ears well placed and hanging super dark brown clean eyes good depth of brisket with sweeping keel and solid body condition on display with super depth at the broad slightly arched loins. Typical breed balance and outline overall correct head and tail carriage moved soundly and positively at the rear with drive but appeared less free in front action on the day in my opinion.

1.Taylor – Gracemaster Rhyme (AI)
Twenty months litter sister to open bitch winner I see similar balanced breed outline though I considered her head could be a tad longer overall but still skull to muzzle in proportion with long strong neck well placed into shoulders ears lengthy. Strong bone and solid well-padded feet sound and positive on the move though I considered lacking drive from the rear on the day. Excellent depth of body and sweep of keel with super spring of ribcage with added benefit of length powerfully developed hindquarters with deep second thighs on show. Coat settled and smooth excellent skin condition throughout.

1.Cruickshank – Wychway-Crown’s Ghillie Gin’s Island At Culsalmond (Imp USA)
Two years quality standing and moving loved her overall balance and construction not the biggest of bitches but well knitted together elbows close super solid body condition with ample covering creating a clean attractive outline. Most appealing head and noble expression to me full open nostrils soft balanced unexaggerated head finish long correctly set velvety ears lovely dark eye colour well set and shaped super strong neck firm level back with length to ribbing well sprung wide and powerful across the slightly arched loins solid and deep in the couplings. Hindquarters well angulated hocks squarely set the most correct in the entry in my view and well let down giving real driving powerful rear action when settled the most accurate mover in the entry in my view as she grew in confidence. Super dense short smooth coat skin thick and supple folds evident where needed excellent thick lengthy tail well set and carried delighted to award her first CC I understand, congratulations.

1.Hudson – Ch. Graceminster Ruby Slippers (AI)
Twenty Months balanced feminine head most appealing dignified expression dark clear eyes well set and shaped excellent overall breed type solemn powerful appearance correct outline and balance noble presence solid firm body condition. Excellent length and strength of neck powerfully set into strong well-placed shoulders the best of bone and well knuckled and padded feet. Super hindquarter muscling deep muscled second thighs excellent overall construction making for sound movement front and rear, a very typical bloodhound bitch of quality, RCC congratulations.
2. Clark & Hayden – Ch. Farlap Qui Martha (AI)
Three years the best free mover in the class with elasticity to her gait but not carrying quite the body condition of the winner on the day in my opinion and a tad longer overall in outline. Lengthy head feminine balanced in proportion clean dark eyes well placed and set noble expression creating a most pleasing breed impression one of the best heads in the entry. Excellent depth of body and sweep of keel good length of neck well angulated throughout with powerful muscled hindquarters.
3. Howie & Emrys Jones, Avery & Miller – Marksbury Regina At Millvery
Two years two months a finer head finish than the winners in my opinion but balanced overall good depth of body solid and deep across the slightly arched loins strongly muscled hindquarters skin folds unexaggerated slight skirt on display. Not quite the positive movement of those above her on the day in my opinion and lacked a degree of confidence today it seemed.
