Many thanks to the committee for their kind invitation to judge at their 2024 Championship Show. Also to my two stewards who kept everything in order and to all the exhibitors who attended this well run show. A super entry, I thoroughly enjoyed my day.

 

Minor Puppy Dog. (9, 1a)

Not much to separate the first two.

  1.  

1st: Sloan & Hunter’s Palmonas Call My Bluff. Pale boy, lovely head with great pigment. Good bone and feet. Straight front, good bend of stifle, moved well for one so young. BPD.

2nd: Taylor & Teague’s Treewater Watson at Goldrealm. Another with such dark pigment, dark eye and great head. Slightly larger boy than one and will need time to fill his frame. Excellent lay back of shoulder, very neat feet. Moved steadily.

3rd: Taylor’s Thornywait Sky Diver.

 

Puppy Dog. (10, 1a)

1st: Sloan & Hunter’s Palmonas Call My Bluff. 

2nd: Taylor & Teague’s Treewater Watson at Goldrealm. 

3rd: Carson & Greer’s Bluebraes Broch Tuarach

 

Junior Dog. (8, 3a)

1st: Scott-Briggs Largymore Ravagier.  Great head and expression. Deep through muzzle. Mid-gold with lovely outline. Good bend of stifle. Moved out well. This win gave him his last point for his JW

2nd: Holmes Ashbyglen Excalibur. Larger framed boy. Mid-gold with masculine head. Dark eye. Well angulated body with excellent lay back of shoulder. Level top-line which he kept on the move.

3rd: Moore’s Tenfield Klipspringer With Auryngra.

 

Yearling Dog. (9, 2a)

1st: Vernon’s Graceleigh Legend of Tarzan. Loved the overall outline of this boy. Will need time to fill his frame. Fantastic head with a melting expression. Clean neck with well laid back shoulders. Super level topline. Good tail set and neat feet. Moved well around the ring.

2nd: Zubair & Loach’s Thornywait Royal Rebel. Dark eye with good expression. Good reach of neck with well laid shoulders. Straight front, well boned and neat cat like feet. Good spring of rib with well muscled thighs and moved effortlessly. Just preferred the leg length of 1.

3rd: Porter’s Shearstone Janner.

 

Novice Dog. (9, 1a)

1st: Sloan & Hunter’s Palmonas Call My Bluff. 

2nd: Moore’s Tenfield Klipspinger with Auryngra. A smaller framed puppy and more compact. Very kind expression. Plenty of bone with well laid shoulders and a good bend of stifle. Great cat like feet and moved well.

3rd: Main’s Putjade Perran by Gwyngala.

 

Graduate Dog. (7, 2a)

1st: Loach & Zubair’s Putjade Poldark. Very balanced outline with nothing overdone. Masculine head. Strong neck with good shoulders. Kept a level topline on the move. Good bend of stifle and neat feet.

2nd: Swaine’s Debbie Ohanagold Apollo. Mid-gold boy with a pleasing head. Good bone and substance. Good tail set, neat feet and covered the ground well.

3rd: Scott-Brigg’s Largymore Ravagier.

 

Post Graduate Dog. (13, 3a)

1st: Law’s Sandti Back Of The Net. What can I say, loved this young boy. His movement was a joy to watch. Powered around the ring. Excellent bone and feet. Lovely head and eye. Balanced and compact body. Mid-Gold. RCC.

2nd: Black’s Bencoe Just In Time Del Avrain Jw Ir J Ch. Very nice outline. More length than 1. Great expression with dark pigment. Strong neck into well laid shoulders. Straight front and cat like feet. Kept a level topline on the move.

3rd: Webster’s Kulawand Skys of Blue Over Benjcroft. 

 

Mid Limit Dog. (10, 4a)

1st: Foreman’s Ambersun Alive And Kicking. A well made pale boy with good substance. Super reach of neck into well laid shoulders. Straight front with nice feet and good topline. Correct tailset and good angulation. Moved well.

2nd: Gerhold’s Navilis Vivat Vivaldi (imp Ukr) JW. Masculine head of good substance. Not overdone in any way. Good spring of rib, short coupled with a nice bend of stifle. Covered the ground well.

3rd: Bolton’s Megarvey Still Game for Shiresmill.

 

Limit Dog. (7, 2a)

1st: Haxton’s Dantassie Double Take. Completely balanced and well made throughout. Good front, sound topline and good angulation. Moved well.

2nd: Williams Eveninghill Detroit Red. Loved his head, very gentle with a melting expression. Well angulated fore and hind quarters. Level topline which he held on the move. Super tight feet.

3rd: McFarlane’s King Of The Swing Qdore Of Labgold To Bluebraes (imp p).

Open Dog. (8, 1a)

Wow what a class! I needed more red cards and was spoilt for choice. On another day these would all change places.

1st: Layland’s Sh Ch Applecote Hearts Desire. Full of quality and type. Excellent head with a lovely expression with dark eyes. A gleaming gold coat. Strong neck with great shoulders. Level topline, good bend of stifle and a good tailset. Super feet. Moved with ease and at one with handler. A joy to watch. DCC.

2nd: Bawden’s Sh Ch Balsamina Beachcomber At Darthill JW. Another super boy with a soft expression and dark pigment. Good length of neck with great forehand and rear angulation. Deep through chest with good spring of rib. Moved with a strong level topline and tailset.

3rd: Dunbar’s Sh Ch Linirgor Tomich JW.

 

Veteran Dog. (5)

1st: Maynard’s Ch Chinnordale Cue Card JW. Very nice outline and well presented in a lovely gold coat. Balanced head with dark pigment. Super depth of body with a good spring of rib. Good bend of stifle and covered the ground well. (Best veteran)

2nd: Gerhold’s Sh Ch Jaymardy Indigo Pacific JW. This boy has a nice outline with a lovely head. Level topline and good overall angulation. Moved so well.

3rd: Webster’s Sh Ch Amblemere You Say It Best At Benjcroft.

 

Good Citizen Dog. (8, 2a)

1st: Withey’s Rosinante Major Hero. More work man like boy with great movement. Very nicely put together. Dark eye, good pigment, strong in neck into good shoulders. Good angulation. Covered the ground well.

2nd: Todd’s Van Gogh Of Sunshine’s Valley With Toddrosa JW (im). A pale boy of good size. Good expression with a masculine head. Dark eye with a good lay back of shoulders. Well angulated rear and very well constructed.

3rd: Riley’s Wylloh Paddington Bear.

 

Special Beginners Dog. (9, 2a)

1st: Withey’s Rosinante Major Hero. Gundog Group Special Beginners Group 4.

2nd: Mears Ambersun Paper Plane. Typical in outline, well balanced angulation, moved well and in good coat.

3rd: Webster’s Sh Ch Amblemere You Say It Best At Benjcroft.

 

Minor Puppy Bitch. (9, 1a)

1st: Youngson’s Linirgor Adeline At Treeveville. An attractive and well balanced girl. Pretty head, good bone and cat like feet. Short coupled, strong quarters and moved well.

2nd: Grindey’s Bramstead Lovely Jubbly. Mid gold with sweet head and dark eye. Slightly longer cast than 1 with close fitting elbows and level top line. Neat feet and hocks. Moved steadily around the ring. 

3rd: Buckles’ Brazenbeacon Artemis.

 

Puppy Bitch. (9, 1a)

1st: Clarkson’s Drumkilty Nollaig Shona. 1 and 2 are full sisters and my  remarks apply to both of these girls but I preferred the leg length of 1. 9 ½ months such elegant bitches oozing quality. Balanced outline with great reach of neck leading in to well set shoulders. Level top line and correct tail set. Both covered the ground well. Best Puppy in Breed. 

2nd: Rees’ Drumkilty Merry And Bright For Catenae. 

3rd: Foster’s Auristela Singing Hinnie. 

 

Junior Bitch. (6, 2a)

1st: Robbins & Rowark’s Brekswood Honey Bee JW. Appealing mid gold girl. Very balanced with a lovely head. Good pigment, straight front with good quarters. A very sound mover. 

2nd: Hill’s Drumkilty One Night Stand For Sandula. Very nice quality bitch with a flowing outline. Longer cast with a good reach of neck. Lovely pale coat and she moved with drive around the ring. 

3rd: Waddell’s Seancaer Just The Beginning 

 

Yearling Bitch. (11, 5a) 

A smashing class. Just splitting hairs between them and on another day they would change places. 

1st: Taylor & Tenn’s Strettonhill’s Daffodil. Excellent outline with a lovely head and expression. Dark eye and a good reach of neck. Good shoulders, level topline with a correct tail set. Good stifles, muscled quarters and moved with ease around the ring. 

2nd: Russell’s Grassyards Field of Gold JW. Another lovely well balanced bitch. Feminine head with dark eyes and pigment. Good shoulders and front and a level top line which was held on the move. Moved well.

3rd: Smyth’s Kadaka Krumpet 

 

Novice Bitch. (12, 2a) 

1st: Clarkson’s Drumkilty Nollaig Shona. 

2nd: Hill’s Drumkilty One Night Stand For Sandaula. 

3rd: Rees’ Drumkilty Merry And Bright For Catenae 

 

Graduate Bitch. (12, 3a) 

1st: Moss’s Ousevale Angel’s Kiss At Carianjo JW. Very nicely balanced bitch, lovely head in gleaming coat. Excellent neck and shoulders. Deep in chest with a level top line and flowing movement. 

2nd: Taylor & Tenn’s Stettonhill Custom Made. Smaller paler bitch. Well angulated at both ends. Reachy neck, straight front and a level top line. Good strong quarters, very neat feet and a lovely movement. 

3rd: Stokes Flyngalee Only Oakley At Jobeka. 

 

Post Graduate Bitch. (11, 5a) 

1st: Rodgers’ Ambersun Passione Of Odarla JW. Glamorously coated bitch of good size. Lovely head, good reach of neck and well made shoulders. Straight front, neat feet, firm top line which was held on the move. Good second thigh.

2nd: McNeish’s Drumkilty Toodle Pip JW. Lovely head and expression. Super front angulation, level top line and strong rear quarters. Covered the ground well.

3rd: Ives’ Balsaminia Bellini JW. 

 

Mid Limit Bitch. (10, 3a) 

1st: Waddell’s New Year’s Eve Date Loyal Gold At Seancaer (Imp). This lady is so balanced from her head to her tail. Feminine head, dark eye and a good scissor bite. Lovely reach of neck on excellent shoulders and front angulation. Kept level top line on the move. Well muscled rear angulation, moved so soundly. 

2nd: Mell’s Sansue Love Actually At Meloak. Shown in beautiful condition, super reach of neck and front assembly. Strong and deep through the body, correct tail set, well angulated rear and covers plenty of ground. 

3rd: Drury’s Bencoe Book Of Time. 

 

Limit Bitch. (11, 4a)

1st: Foreman’s Ambersun Heart of Gold. Gentle head and expression, ample reach of neck into excellent shoulders. Good depth of chest, firm top line and a good bend of stifle. Moved with drive. 

2nd: Robbins & Rowark’s Brekswood Lady Eleanor. Lovely full mature bitch with a balanced outline and super head. Strong shoulders and well ribbed. Level top line, short coupled, super width of second thigh and moved with purpose. 

3rd: McDonald’s Lamancha Question The Truth. 

 

Open Bitch. (10, 2a) 

Another super class, some hard decisions to make here. 

1st: Russell’s Grassyards Call Me Madam JW. What can I say, I loved everything about this beautiful bitch. A gleaming coat and she stands on super legs and feet. Glorious head and expression. Balanced front and back angles, short coupled and deep through the body. Correct tail set. Her movement was a joy to watch. BCC. 

2nd: Crookes & Jenkinson’s SH CH Quakerhall Pandora’s Bounty. An excellent bitch to go over, lovely head with a sweet expression. Her neck just flows into her shoulders, straight front and a good spring of rib. Level top line, well angled hind quarters and short hocks. She moved with drive and ease around the ring. RCC 

3rd: Neil’s Gaytonwood Martha.

 

Veteran Bitch, (7, 0a) 

1st: Ives’ SC CH Trewater Busy Lizzie At Balsamina. A smaller framed bitch with a very balanced outline. Pale coated with a feminine head and kind eye. A good length of neck with excellent shoulders. Well ribbed with a good top line. Good angulation with well muscled, neat hocks. Excellent presentation and moved so soundly.

2nd: Crookes & Jenkinson’s Quakerhall Victory Jubilee. Beautifully made and in excellent condition. Balanced head, well laid back shoulders with straight front and neat feet. Super bend of stifles and moved with drive.

3rd: Rodgers’ SC CH Rojillair Evening Magic Of Odarla JW.

 

Good Citizen Bitch, (11, 5a) 

1st: Waddell’s New Year’s Eve Date Loyal Gold At Seancaer (Imp).

2nd: Pounds-Longhurst’s Mossburn Golly Miss Molly JW. A mid gold girl with a nice head. Good reach of neck and correct shoulder placement. Firm topline with a good tail set. Good bend of stifle and moved well around the ring. 

3rd: Harding & Start’s Eveninghill Home By The Sea. 

 

Special Beginners Bitch. ( 9, 3a)

1st: Buckles’ Brazenbeacon Artemis. Dark coated young girl with a soft expression with dark pigment. She is well made throughout, short coupled, cat like feet and neat hocks. Well handled and moved well.   

2nd: Mason’s Wheatcroft China Girl At Nosam. Gorgeous head and expression, nice reach of neck into well laid shoulders. Slightly longer cast then one. Moved steadily.

3rd: Smith Rocamoka Funky Business.
