A better entry than last time!
type still varies, i have been ultra vocal in the past about toplines, saying roached backs are incorrect and are not the desired slight rise, i was glad to say today these were far fewer. a little too much kick back in rear movement was evident, however this was a much more uniform entry for quality overall. thank you to the society for the invitation and the exhibitors for the entry.

1st: 1937 WOOLCOCK, Mr Evan Howell Kenquince Big Guns Alphapups VW
11 years cream and what a lovely size to start with, he has a lovely clean head with a good skull to muzzle ratio, dark almond eyes of a good size lending to an appealing expression, his front was good with correct leg proportions and tight elbows, straight front and a good topline, his tail is high set and carried well, his coat is good and in the right places, of good texture to keep him cool in his native country, light and free in movement he was sound all ways and a credit to his owner for keeping him in such fabulous condition.

sable and white, solidly made all through, he has a lovely head and although no mistaking his sex, he is not coarse with it, well proportioned muzzle and dark eye with pigmented rims, his neck was good with a nice shoulder, hare feet, good ribs and loin, i felt his tail could be a fraction higher, presented in immaculate condition coat wise, on the move he is sound all ways and holds his shape, if a little kick back which hopefully as he settles will lessen.

1st: 1944 ZYDELYTE, Ms Ruta Kiss From Heaven Mano Gentis (Imp)
gold sable with a masculine head, liked his overall type and shape and again was presented in excellent order, masculine with good skull to muzzle proportions, dark eyes and well set ears give a nice expression, his front is good with a good lay of shoulder, good upper arm and hare feet, well ribbed and a tuck up, correct topline, being straight with a slight rise, a high set well plumed tail which he carried well and gave an overall balanced outlook, smart on the move, holding his shape and going around with accurate and light footfall.
2nd: 1921 GORSE, Mrs Delia Blevwil Perfect Party
gold, unsettled, both standing and moving which was a shame, he exhibits a nice head with good features and pigment in keeping with his colour, his coat was well presented and of good texture, a little more time and effort to get him to know the job in hand will see a big difference.

a black and white, happy, bouncy boy who has a very appealing masculine head, his eyes are almond shaped, dark and set well to give a good expression, his ears are set well and he has enough width in skull, a good stop and correct bite, his front assembly is good, with a well laid shoulder, good return of upper arm and hare feet, he has a good ribcage and a nice topline, a distinct tuck up and firm, well angulated rear, a tail which is set and carried well with a good plume, presented in first class order, on the move a little bouncy in rear keeping his shape as he goes.

Absolutely loved this boys head, typical and correct, with excellent proportions and masculine without being overdone, dark eyes, well set ears and good width of skull all combine to make this one of the nicest heads of the day. his body is correct and well made, with height to length being good, good ribs and correct loin, his firm rear was well angled and gave a balance to the front which was also correct, his topline was good with that slight rise, his tail was set correctly, but there was the problem for him to go any further….he refused to put it up, such a shame as is a really quality boy with so much to like. dressed in a correct textured coat, sound, true and light on the move, with more confidence he has all the essentials to gain his crown.

this was a great class, its always nice for the judge to be splitting hairs to this degree but little consolation for the exhibitors who don't win, however rest assured i was impressed.
1st: 1932 SPICER, Mrs Nicki Thistlesweet Delaware The Third (Imp)
cream with a gorgeous head, dark, expressive eyes and a strong muzzle, a good stop and width of skull, firm shoulders which are correctly angled, a good upper arm and straight forearm, hare feet, excellent pigment and then his body is correctly proportioned in regard to height and length, his firm muscular rear has good angles and his tail is set on well and carries a fabulous plume, he is presented to perfection and showed to advantage at a good pace to accentuate his light, free movement, he is parallel going away and keeps his shape all the time.
2nd: 1923 LANE, Mrs Sheila & LANE, Mr Darin Starleisha Prada Paws Jw
smaller than the winner and so typey, black and white, with an outstanding head and expression, excellent pigment and head properties, he has an excellent topline with a high set tail, carried well and profusely plumed, sound and happy on the move with a jaunty gait, really did push the winner all the way.

another superb class, chock full of quality and overall i was impressed by the shape of the breed these days.
1st: 1935 WALKER, Mrs S J Newtonwood Double Dare Of Follyglen
gold, in excellent coat, importantly in the right places and of the correct silky texture, ideal for keeping him cool in his country of origin, this boy i can imagine being overlooked for more glamour but he is ultra correct, his proportions, head, sound typical movement it's all there, in detail, his head is superb, male all through but with a friendly and gentle expression, achieved by dark, almond eyes of correct size, a good muzzle to skull, enough width of head and well set ears, his neck and shoulders are good with a good upper arm and neat hare feet, he has enough width of chest, a good fore-chest and good ribs, his proportions coming from his ribcage and short couplings, his topline is straight with a slight rise to the croup and topped off with a high set tail, which is well plumed and carried well, sound, well muscled rear with good angles creates a natural balance all through, standing he looks handsome and on the move he carries himself well, smartly and lightly with a free, foot perfect gait. headed this class and in the challenge i felt he was just what i was looking for, consequently he was awarded his 2nd CC and later BOS, I hope his third is just around the corner, as he will be a worthy Champion.
2nd: 1919 CHESHIRE, Mrs Janet Dalton Hera From Hearmean (Imp NLD)
not catalogued as such, but now a champion i understand, as stronger boy all through, in terms of masculinity and strength of head, still correct i felt and very appealing all through. red sable who's coat was presented to perfection, correct texture, his head is fabulous, nothing to change, his dark eyes fairly sparkle, excellent bite and muzzle with a good stop, width of skull and well set ears, strong and firm in front assembly with a good shoulder and neck, his topline is correct and with a high set tail, it balances the whole picture, on the move, he is sound without a doubt, but i just wish he'd put more into it, a bit of spirit so to speak. however i felt him very good value for the reserve CC today.

correct body and height with a nice rear giving a natural balance, her rear is parallel when viewed from the rear and she has correct rear movement, in side profile she holds her shape so well and is light and free and is accurate in footfall. presented to perfection, she oozes Havanese quality all day long. i was happy to award her the

very raw black and white, in, at the moment, the bare minimum of coat, however her head, body and topline were fabulous and for me, a minor puppy should look like a minor puppy, in detail her head is very pretty and correct for proportions, she has a dark eye and well set ear placement, her front is good with a well laid shoulder and correct return of upper arm, hare feet and then her body is good with the desired length coming from her ribcage, just giving her that correct fractionally longer than high proportion. her rear is well made and with a high tail set she is nicely balanced, the coat was good silky texture and as she matures i think she'll be very special.
2nd: 1931 SMITH, Mrs S Elperrito Mistletoes
much more coat on this girl, who was pretty in outlook, a little more solidly made but saying that she's further on in development, presented in immaculate condition, sound on the move but i preferred the topline of the winner

loved this chocolate girl, with corresponding pigment and eye colour of course, so beautiful, she has a gorgeous head, correctly proportioned and a good bite, her neck is good and flows into a well laid shoulder, nice front with correct leg length, good chest and ribs and a super topline, correct in loin and her rear is sound and she has a high set tail with a nice plume, her coat is good for texture and was well presented, she moves out well in a typical light and jaunty action. best puppy B and best puppy in breed.

lighter chocolate with self coloured pigment, bigger girl with a nice shape, she has good head features with a lighter eye shade as to be expected on this colour, good muzzle and skull, nice front and well matched rear. would like a slightly higher tail set, moves out soundly.

cream of a lovely size and very pretty outlook, loved her eyes, dark and correctly shaped giving a kind expression, her shape was lovely, with a correct topline which she held stood and moving, on the go around in the class she was light and free, due to her correct front assembly and corresponding rear angles, dressed in a correct amount of coat which was of good texture and presented well, she is deserving of higher awards and was in contention without a doubt.

the boxes were all ticked here and i thought she was just beautiful, she has a gorgeous head, ultra feminine and just draws you in with her gorgeous dark eyes which give a fabulous expression, super pigment, she has a correct muzzle, width of skull and well placed ears, her neck and shoulders are excellent and her front legs have correct proportions and she stands on neat hare feet, her chest is good which leads into her ribcage, loin and then her firm rear, she has a slight tuck up and a fabulously correct topline, every one of these female class winners had good toplines which was great to see, her rear is correct and balances the front to perfection, she has a high set tail with a lovely plume, again balancing the whole picture, dressed in a red sable coat of correct texture and presented with every hair accounted for, as the breeze gently blew through her coat it was evident it was light and silky and she looked superb. light and free on the move with a typical jaunty action, no kickback and parallel from behind, she goes around beautifully. CC and best of breed. shortlisted in the group i believe.
