A reasonable entry sadly depleted with many absentees today; possibly this was due to the extreme heat we are experiencing at the moment.  Despite this I was happy with all the hounds I handled today especially my main winners.

masculine of pleasing substance yet graceful, has good bone throughout, skull of correct breadth with strong muzzle & good bite, good pigmentation, in hard muscular condition & also has the harsh well presented coat, sloping shoulders & good depth to his chest, nice wide breast, correct length of back with firm top line, correctly drawn up in underline, good length of thigh which was muscular & firm, his movement today was steady but sound.

well known hound who took my eye the very first time I seen him, privaliged to be able to put my hands on this magnificent example of an I. Wolfhound. Everything I thought was confirmed and he just shouts out top quality. Fantastic head with eye & ear well set, has plenty of strength in that jaw & his skull is not overly broad with excellent black nose & eyes, flowing muscular neck into excellent shoulder placement with elbows firmly held straight & well under, in excellent body condition with excellent arch to loin, nicely tucked up & at all times firm yet felible in top line, strong well set hocks, correctly carries his well set tail, coat well presented & of excellent texture, as described in standard his movement is certainly “easy & active” shown in excellent condition & he is moved at the correct pace & not trying to race him around the ring, has excellent strong firm feet & at all times stands himself to advantage.  C.C. & B.O.B.

another who moved so well for a large hound, shade smaller than 1 but certainly not lacking in size or substance, well boned & sound on the move, well shaped head with strong jaws, dark pigment & in good strong coat, correct body cover & firm in top line with arch to loin, lovely sound rear with firm hocks, strong feet set well, correct tail set on & carriage Res C.C.

sadly not relaxed in her surroundings today but with time & reassurance she did settle, nice head & firm neck with more confidence will carry her head more proudly, still filling out in body but fine for her young age, long back & arched loin, has a well set tail of correct length, still needs to strengthen in her rear hence moving better in front than from her rear, with time & maturity will progress well.

particularly liked her movement & no doubting her sex she is so feminine but has pride & stature, enjoying the show ring & put in such a good performance, liked her skull & strong jaw, dark eye & well placed ears, well ribbed with lovely arch to loin & nicely tucked up, excellent feet, one I liked very much & look forward to seeing her mature, has lots to offer, in hard condition & moves out with ease & precision, well set tail carried correctly & of correct length. youngster who today was more relaxed & settled on the move as opposed to when stacked, when she moved her profile improved, pleasing in head with good eye & ear placement, has a firm well set neck, enough bone throughout, sound in her rear with correct set tail, particularly good feet. Another who just needs time.

you can recognise the breeding of this bitch as very typical from that kennel, feminine & slow maturing but so lovely to go over, nothing is out of proportion or exagerated, lovely head with good eye & expression, elbows well held, good depth to chest & nice width of chest, firm top line & nicely tucked up, loin well arched over to give her flexability which was evident when moving, free & easy in her stride, well carried tail of moderate thickness, liked her well set hocks & has feet that turn neither in nor out, correct coat texture, gave her handler a hard time but her qualities are there to see. Delighted to award her C.C., which I am told is her first.

heavier in build & bone than 1st desirable in head with well placed eye & her ears are rose shaped & fine in texture, in mature excellent body condition, correct depth of chest, firm in loin, well shaped feet which are well arched, in good coat with strong harsh texture, like her well set shoulder & upper arm, on the move she was not matching 1st in rear drive, good tail of moderate thickness.
