What a pleasure to judge mini smooths for the first time at Paignton. Many thanks to the committee for the invitation to judge and my stewardswho kept the ring flowing. the exhibitors for taking the time and expense to show under me. The ring was inside the building, it was quite noisey and did not suit all the dogs. I found the entry to be good for quality, but very varied for type, which made for some difficult decisions at times. I wasnt suprised when going through the catalogue to find out that the DCC, BCC, winner of open and winner of limit were all from the same litter. so similar and typey.

Class 1782 SBD/B (5 Entries) Abs: 0
1st: 3337 CATO, Mr Michael & CATO, Miss Chloe & CATO, Mrs La Jenivon's Alexandra Of Earldax. 2 yr old B&T who pleased through a typical head. clean through neck, tidy front, clean topline and tailset. a good height to length balance, compact . moved tidily, keeping topline. BSB.
2nd: 3343 DOWNIE, Mrs Hannah Marvale Kingfisher. Stronger made, who was pleasing to handle and balanced throughout. pleased in head and ears. I liked the clean topline and tailset. well made throughout and well handled. moved tidily.
3rd: 3352 GOODALL, Mrs Linda Stargang Eternal Flame

1st: 3377 TITE, Mr J Rayol Gingerfella By Rijobeau. This young fellow moved with reach and drive. he pleased in head, ample neck, compact in body, but would like ribs further back. ok through front and rear angles. a little keen on tail, so hopefully will settle.

1st: 3346 ERGIS, Mrs S Siouxline Trojan. I took a lot of notes on this young man and for good reason. a quality exhibit who ticked the majority of boxes for me. this brindle is just 9 mths old and looks the part already. loved his head , typical, conical and with length and strength throughout. good reach of neck leading into a clean front assembly. lovely prominent prosternum, legs well under and well tucked in elbows and good crook. well ribbed of excellent length. clean topline and underline and tailset, which was carried well. ample ground clearance , well angled rear with a well formed rump. he stood on tidy feet. covered the ground in a very typical action, free, flowing with reach and drive and true coming and going. Best Puppy and pushed very hard for the top honours in the challenge.
2nd: 3360 JENNINGS, Mrs J Jenivons The Story Lives On. this shaded red youngster was of a pleasing size and balance. he is typical in head, has a clean topline and underline and covered the ground well on the move.
3rd: 3354 HEELS, Miss Kerry Rayol Never Say Never With Daxanory

1st: 3364 KIRKWOOD-EMERY, Misses A & A Marvale Royal Salute At Helydon. This smart promising youngster is just 13 months and still maturing. he cuts a fine picture stacked. very typical in head, clean through lengthy neck and front assembly. legs well under. balanced and of a good height to length ratio. good reach on the move, covering the ground whilst keeping a good topline.

1st: 3368 PATCH, Mr C & PATCH, Mrs P Brogansian Barbarian. A well made young brindle man of 23 months. Nothing exagerated. Compact and well bodied. typical headpiece, clean through neck, well made front assembly, legs well under and good ribbing. clean top and undeline. lovely croup, strong rump and balanced through. clean on the move but was a little reluctant today for his handler and was keen to exit the ring.

1st: 3385 WOODHOUSE, Mrs Niamh & WOODHOUSE, Mr Joshua Kenleap Moon Hero. Chocolate and tan. stood 5th in SB. was a little more controlled on this occassion. hes a happy little man, who was typey, legs under, ok in top and underline and moved steadily when settled.

Class 1788 LD (4 Entries) Abs: 1
1st: 3362 KENT, Mrs Yvonne Lokmadi Charles Rex. A lot to like about this masculine, well put together red dog. A cracking head, long and conical with some strength. OK in neck,  a lovely forechest, with good depth, legs well under and elbows tigh fitting. Ribs were well back, compact and he had a strong loin, tidy tailset. Ample bone throughout and good muscletone which he put to use on the move. very steady and clean with reach and good drive from the rear.
2nd: 3373 SMALL, Miss Karis Jade Bronia Lucien For Devondax. 3yr old fawn. not the head or outline of 1. he wasnt in a happy place today. that said, he is built on the right lines. Well bodied and compact with ribs well back. Moved cleanly keeping top and underline.
3rd: 3350 FORGE, Mrs Iona Normpug Roman Holiday JW

Class 1789 OD (9 Entries) Abs: 0
1st: 3381 WILLIAMS, Mrs R & MOES, Mr C J Cwmdarhian The Ice Man. there is plenty of this young man, but can he put on a show. He commanded the ring as if he owned it. Difficult to fault. Loved his head, long, conical, good width, smart tidy ears and good eye. excellent through neck and what a front. so well put together, excellent keel, and prosternum, crook, legs under and well tucked in, ribs well back. strong loin, clean tailset and excellent rump for age. clean underline and topline. He came to life on the move, with reach, drive, topline, tail carriage and head held high and proud. movement both ways, true, parallel and clean. couldnt deny him the CC.
2nd: 3365 O'CONNELL, Mr Richard & O'CONNELL, Mrs Aimee Ch Rijobeau Rumours With Llennocor Jw. A B&T, who pleased for overall size and balance. Quality throughout, he is clean and typical through head, good ears and correct eye, with adequate reach of neck. Balanced throughout, well angulated fore and rear quarters and adequate rump. Well ribbed with lovely top and underline, which he maintained at all times. nothing overdone. He covered the ground well, with purpose , true all ways, keeping his topline, but he had dendency to flag his head. He did enough to gain the RCC.

1st: 3321 BEACH, Miss Leah Michaela & BEACH, Messers Liam Jo Riowood Arizona JW VW. well made brindle dog. has a classy conical head with length and correct width, dark eye and tidy ears. clean through neck, well placed front assembly and forechest. pleased for overall size, balance, body and impressed on the move, covering the ground with a typical action and shape. BV
2nd: 3369 POULIER, Ms Nicola Auradach Alfred The Great. B&T. Not he topline or dody of winner. pleased for type and he was put down in good condition for age. he covered the ground well and moved steadily.

Class 1791 MPB (3 Entries) Abs: 0
1st: 3361 JENNINGS, Mrs J Jenivon's Mini Me. this 6 month old pretty dapple is so clean to go over. shes balanced throughout and presents an excellent silohuette. The colours were off putting when judging and took time to see through to the excellent type underneath, as they played tricks with the eyes. She has a feminine balanced head, clean neck lovely front assembly and legs well under. ribs well back, compact in body, clean topline and excellent croup and tailset. she has good bone and stands on tidy feet. she looks the part on the move, very clean from all angles. i will watch her progress.
2nd: 3351 FORGE, Mrs Iona Normpug Midday Sun. another youngster of good type but not as balanced or shapely as winner. feminine conical head, adequate bone, clean topline. not quite the mclean movement of winner at the moment and was a little keen at times of her tail.
3rd: 3367 ORD, Miss Sada Diane Wickedax Spice Up Your Life

Class 1792 PB (7 Entries) Abs: 1
1st: 3347 ERGIS, Mrs S Siouxline Trinity. I note that this is the litter sister to the best puppy male and of a somilar quality. Obviously she has a lot of similar traits. head, front, topline, ribs well back and a good rump. she is a little longer in loin than her brother and at times drops her topline and flags her tail. has good ring presence and moved well in profile with head carriage.
2nd: 3338 CATO, Mr Michael & CATO, Miss Chloe & CATO, Mrs La Lokmadi Lindy Hop Of Earldax. this young lady has just turned 12 months. She is typical for type, not the depth of winner but a pleasing firm topline. good ground clearance, balanced and of a nice size.still needs to fill. has a tidy tailset and carriage and moves steadily. she was well handled.

1st: 3384 WILLIAMS, Mrs R & MOES, Mr C J Cwmdarhian Cool As Ice. 15 months brindle. a quality bitch who had all the required breed specifics I was looking for. head long, in proportion and conical, dark eye and lovely ears. clean through neck to an excellent front assembly. topline, tailset and croup, with excellent rump.good rear angles, that were put to use in her clean movement, covering the ground with purpose and perfect head carriage. considered and pushed hard for RCC. 
2nd: 3341 CORFIELD, Mrs Alison Maurfield Aphrodite. 13 mth B&T bitch. tidy on the move and pleasing to go over. typical in head, front assembly pleased lean topline and firm rump. she was well bodied.moved steadily and very clean.
3rd: 3340 COOTE, Mrs Sheila Kelsomaid Blazing Commet

1st: 3323 BEACH, Miss Leah Michaela & BEACH, Messers Liam Jo Beachdax California Gurls.lovely headed bitch, dark eye and nice ears, she also had good head carriage. she was well bodied throughout and filled her clean frame well. excellent front assembly, prosternum, ribs well back, clean top and underline. moved cleanly, covering the ground with purpose.
2nd: 3353 GRAHAM, Mr R Portmoll Primadonna. not the head or substance of winner. 18mths, good for overall size.good topline, undeline croup and tailset. little unsettled under hands, but came to life on the floor. very brisk clean movement, covering the ground in true style.

1st: 3357 HERALD, Mrs R & Miss S J Winterfield Whiskey Maude. seemed very unsettled today and unsure if she liked her surroundings. that said, she pleased to go over. pleasing in head. good ground clearance, clean topline, well ribbed and good body substance, tidy tailset. 
2nd: 3349 FORGE, Mrs Iona Normpug Apricot Beauty. 4 yr old pretty head, good front, well ribbed back, firm in topline, loose underneath, due to a recent litter. tidy angulation, moved well keeping good shape.
3rd: 3352 GOODALL, Mrs Linda Stargang Eternal Flame

1st: 3383 WILLIAMS, Mrs R & MOES, Mr C J Cwmdarhian Ice Queen.  Quality, 15 mths, she is the litter sister to the DCC, jnr and open bitch winners. so much to like about her. i thought her to be so balanced, quality throughout and very typical. i particularly nliked her head, feminine but strong, conical and long with good dentition, correct eye and nice ears. excellent front assembly, forechest, legs well under, elbows well tucked in and good cradle. ample bone and tidy feet. clean topline and liked her underline, with ribs well back. for me she was the most balanced of the 4 siblings, with nothing overdone and of a good size. ample ground clearance. a well formed rump and strength in thigh and second thigh. a little unsettled at times on the stack, but so positive on the move.she strode out so accurately, parralle coming and going, driving from behind and with excellent reach in front. keeping her topline and with head held high, such free movement. in the challenge i kept going back to her for overall balance. a deserved CC & BOB, from what I am told was only her 2nd show. she also performed so well in the main ring on grass.
2nd: 3345 ERGIS, Mrs S Siouxline Elsa Marie JW. B&T. Presented a pleasing shape when stacked  and was of good size, but still maintained the substance and bone required. She pleased through a feminine head, with a correct eye shape, pleasing ears and typical expression. nicely bodied with clean topline and tidy tailset. stood on good feet. Kept her topline on the move and strode out well, covering the ground very cleanly. she did enough in the challenge to be rewarded with the RCC.
3rd: 3379 WILKINSON & WAKEHAM, Miss & Mr Carrie & Andrew Wakywilks Vitoria

1st: 3382 WILLIAMS, Mrs R & MOES, Mr C J Cwmdarhian Hot Pursuit. 15 mth, brindle. bigger than i would want ideally, but i kept getting drawn back to her. her head was excellent, long, conical and of good width. pleasing expression from dark eyes , well set ears and good dentition. excellent through neck, into what must be a text book front. what a forechest, lay of shoulder, well cradled and elbows tooked in. legs well under and stood on tidy feet. well off for bone and a clean topline. ribbed well back, which presented a long clean underline. tailset spot on. well formed rump and rear assembly. her movement was excellent, so brisk, powerful and head held high. driving around the ring with reach and drive. 
2nd: 3322 BEACH, Miss Leah Michaela & BEACH, Messers Liam Jo Ch Beachdax Girl Of My Dreams JW. 2 yrs, of standard size. presented a lovely picture stacked with no exageration. balanced throughout with adequate bone and substance. typical in head, with good length, neck, front assembly, topline, ribs well back and underline, all impressed. another who impresses with clean movement. a deserved title holder. 
3rd: 3366 O'CONNELL, Mr Richard & O'CONNELL, Mrs Aimee Ch Rijobeau Rita Bix With Llennocor

2nd: 3328 BULLINGHAM, Mrs M J Stoweytop Sea Of Stars. 11 yrs young. very feminine in head, good front, with pro sternum, legs well under , good body and tidy croup and rear angles. moved steadily.
3rd: 3348 FORGE, Mrs Iona Normpug Tiger Eyes
