1st: 494 MCLOUGHLIN, Mrs N Ann Krieger's Kilted Dragon

small, square and short coupled, with his jet black coat with rich tan markings he is an eye catcher and i was surprised to find him still in this class…he has good angles front and rear and displays a slightly sloped topline to a good tail set. his head is masculine but still not overdone. his dark eyes are well set and his muzzle and skull are good, ears could be just very slightly higher set being picky although firm and erect. moving soundly with slight lift in front, if a little wide behind. attentive and showy for his handler. best sp. beginners.

larger type red boy looking smart at 7, sharp outline with correct angles giving a balanced profile, has a good chest and neck with a good shoulder, firm topline with slight slope, and topped off with a well set and carried tail. impressed for his bite, full and clean with a good skull to muzzle ratio. wedge shaped.

good ribs and chest, well muscled rear. sound going around and holds a nice clean shape.

really taken by this gorgeous stag red young male, 8 months and of course has some dropping into himself to do but the framework is there and correct to do so. really nice head, masculine and keen outlook, dark eyes for his colour, and a wedge shaped headpiece with a good muzzle and correct bite, small well set ears finish off his head, which is held with a beautifully crested neck and a good front assembly with stock, straight front legs and neat feet. yes, his chest needs to drop, which it will, in the fullness of time, his topline is firm with a slight slope, his tail his set well and carried over smartly. in gleaming condition and well off for muscle tone already and his back end is parallel when viewed from behind, on the move he displays a good lift in front with a break at the wrist, light free and and true all ways. liked him very much and my mind kept going back to him as i judged the rest. close call between him and the junior dog, but this boy got the nod for the cc today, his first, i wish his owners well for the next 2.

compact and a shade smaller than the cc winner, quality all through, being smart outlined with great proportions, a keen eye set well in his masculine head, good bite and muzzle to skull ratio, small neat ears set on correctly, firm solid topline with the correct slight slop, tail set on well and held high and smartly going around, a cocky little chap who moves out well, absolute soundness in front and rear and holds his outline throughout. had to settle for the reserve cc today, but i wish him well for his 3rd cc and have no doubt an exhibit of such quality will easily gain his well deserved crown.

larger black and tan not giving his all today after a recent fright on the judging table, however he is very typey none the less and when he gains his confidence back will be a bother. shiny black coat with well placed rich tan and pencil marks. good muzzle with correct bite, dark eyes and good ears. deep chest and good ribs, sound behind and parallel, when he gets into his stride his tail come right up and i saw enough to place this boy first.

Class 275 OD (3 Entries) Abs: 0

great class here where many compromises had to be made.

lots to like about all three of these champions.
1st: 506 WESTERMAN, Miss Charlotte Ann Ch Charpin Ottomatic JW

have always liked this boy, I gave him a reserve cc from minor puppy dog at one of his first shows, so i can imagine the owner would be disappointed not to get anything more than the class win today, however i think this boy is stunning, an ideal compact square size and dressed an a shiny black jacket decorated with rich tan in the correct places. his head is masculine but in no way overdone, good bite and muzzle, dark eyes, well set ears but would like smaller…short coupled with a deep chest and firm topline with the slight slope, running in to a well set tail. his front is straight with neat feet, a good rear with good angles and parallel when viewed from behind, he is keen, attentive and shows like a pro, on the move he is sound all ways and has a good lift in front.
2nd: 505 WATKINS, Ms Tereza & BUGDEN, Miss Jess Ch Hawksflight Hot Pursuit JW

smart, well known champion dressed in red, superb shape, type and make, he really cuts a great outline. loved his head, dark eye and good muzzle, ears set on well but would prefer firmer. his neck is good with a good shoulder placement and good ribs and chest, firm, muscular rear with a good tail set. keeps his clean shape on the move and is absolutely sound all ways, coming back to a foot perfect stand.

2nd: 493 MASKELL, Mrs Karen Churchbank Fire Angel

finer all through, very pretty and feminine with a keen alert expression, dark eyes and a nice crest of neck, attentive and showy and displaying a good hackney lift in front. would just prefer a straighter topline.

Class 284 OB (4 Entries) Abs: 0

great class and a pleasure to judge, a cliche which i hate to hear but still i'm going to use it, but all 4 were superb and there really was no disgrace in not winning this class. no consolation, i know, but absolute quality.
1st: 498 REDDINGTON, Miss K & HARRISON, J Kaypin Hey Diddle Diddle

small, smart and clean cut, dressed in a short fine red jacket she was so well made, sturdy with good bone, feminine in outlook, good width and depth of chest, keen eye and a good muzzle to skull ratio, excellent bite with clean teeth, small, high set ears a good neck and shoulder with a firm, slightly sloping topline, a well set and carried tail. her rear is firm, well muscled and parallel, she moves out cleanly with a good lift in front and slight behind, keeping her smart shape all the way. cc and best of breed. was told this makes her up. congratulations.
2nd: 503 URWIN, Mrs Wendy & URWIN, Mr Jonathan Vickstock Wow Aneeva JW

I'll make no secret of this but i was surprised, I have thought there wasn't enough of this girl when I've seen her from ringside….i had to eat my words, she's well made, sturdy and has enough bone for her size, everything fits well in to the next part and she is all of a piece, feminine and pretty in outlook, has a keen dark eye and a small ear, good neck, shoulders and topline with a good depth to chest. smart and showy she moves well with some lift. considered for the reserve cc.
