With it being 8 years since I last judged my first love, I was able to see a noticeble improvement in bites and tails. There were only a couple of untidy flea teeth but nothing like last time I judged and tail carriage is so much better. Hardly any flying tails, even on the exhibits with exhuberant temperaments!  Without exception, all dogs were well groomed and clean.

1st: 1121 KINGABY, Mrs Laura Stormymoon Thor

4 ½ year old black. Correct size and shape. He possesses a well proportioned head with nice shaped eyes. Good front with a good depth of chest. Correct body proportions and looked a picture on the stand.  He moved well with true parallel hind action and carries his tail correctly.  Just needs a bit more finish to complete the picture but pushed hard for the RCC

Nice fawn, although not quite as outgoing as the first placed, and a little shorter in back.  Although he moved well, he was not quite a foot perfect as the first, but he is a lot younger and surely his day will come.

Nice size black with a good outline both on the stand and moving.  Strong masculine head and a good reach of neck, leading into a well angulated front assembly and good forechest.  Long tail which was carried correctly . In good coat of good texture and lovely temperament

This 4 year old fawn stood head and shoulders above the rest of the dog entry. I absolutely loved his head, correct proportions, strong muzzle , big black nose, big teeth and excellent bite.  Lovely reach of neck,leading into well angulated front. Excellent ribbing and chest, strong loin. Excellent bone and substance, masculine without being overdone which I thought some of the other males were. He moved with such extension and drive, really covering the ground with an easy action.  His well presented coat is a good colour and texture.  Good length of tail and carried correctly

23 month fawn who displayed particularly good parallel movement. Very strong bone but well made throughout and displaying really excellent movement.  One I feel can only improve with maturity

This 10 ½ year old fawn girl is in amazing condition for her age.  Her excellent topline put some of the youngsters to shame.  Excellent angulation with particularly good return of upper arm.  Moved very well with reach and drive as her construction suggested she would.  I can totally see why she is a champion and could easily win more CCs but for me she is just a touch on the large size

Very typy 8 year black, more my preferred size but she couldn't match the first on movement. Very pretty , well made, again with excellent angulation and correct amount of bone

Another lovely type, in fact litter brother to the bitch placed 2nd and very similar, just in a masculine mould. He moved well, although a bit lazily, but did enough to win the RCC.

10 month old fawn who must certainly be a star of the future.  Beautiful for type and everything about her is so well balanced.  Lovely correctly proportioned head, dark eyes, strong muzzle. Good reach of neck and well angulated. She moved so assuredly and precisely and I was delighted to watch her win a very well deserved Puppy group 2.

Very pretty 9 month old black.  Not as mature as 1, but very correct for her age. Good strong bite, outgoing temperament

This little girl captured my heart as soon as she walked into the ring. Although standing alone in her class, I knew she would be hard to beat, and indeed she ended up taking the CC over her more mature kennel mate.  Absolutely perfect for me for size and outline.  She reminded me of some of the lovely blacks from years ago. Beautiful feminine head, no mistaking her sex all through, but she still has plenty of bone and substance. Excellent front assembly, with good depth of chest, tight elbows  and nice straight legs.  Very tidy front movement coming towards me and well set hocks that she used well .  All topped off with the most beautiful glossy black coat with a real old fashioned break to it! I loved her

Very nice 18 month black, typical of the black bitches I used to love from this kennel.  Feminine but with substance, strong bite , good neck and well made. She moved well for her young handler, with enthusiasm showing good reach and drive

Nice size and shape but she wasn't too happy with proceedings which showed in her movement.

Young shaded fawn with very accurate movement and well schooled. Well angulated. I would like a little more body but as she is still young, this will no doubt come

Fawn with a very thick coat going through the change and one that I particularly struggled with when the wind was blowing it everywhere, but underneath I found a very well made bitch , Lovely head and expression,

Beautiful sized black girl with outstanding movement. Excellent front and chest, good substance and condition and excellent topline which she held at all times.  She really pushed hard for the CC but the junior bitch just had the extra wow factor

Another beautiful black bitch . Nice long tail which she held well. Perhaps a little lazy on the move and so couldn't match 1, but another I liked a lot
