LEEDS CHAMPIONSHIP DOG SHOW,  July, 2026

LEONBERGERS

SBD/B (2,0)

1. White’s Bedeburn Radgie Gadgie at Denzleos  A  2year old dog of a good   size, still needing to develop into his frame. Masculine head with dark oval eyes and kind expression. Strong limbs well-boned. Straight back. Nice long tail well-feathered.
2. Simpson’s Pagency Sukrin Bella   Only 9 months and handler and dog at possibly their first show. A pretty bitch in thick, red coat. Happy in her surroundings where many dogs did not like the  ring tapes blowing in the wind. Feminine head  , adequate length to neck. Strong straight back.  Moved happily if a bit erratic. I hope the owner enjoyed the experience as much as her puppy and will attend more shows.

1.Charwin & Davies Jarno Bcoz it’s my time at Debbollinby

I found this quite a difficult class to judge. All had their virtues and it will be interesting to see how they develop. On the day, it was the even movement that won this dog the class. In profile this puppy appeared balanced and in proportion. Straight forelegs. Front and rear angulation not exaggerated. Hocks well let down with short pasterns to improve drive.

1. Simpson’s  Simberger Razzle Dazzle Almost two months younger than the first puppy.  Presented in thick red coat. Standing on four good legs and feet. Bone in balance with the body. Correct eye shape and placement. An interesting prospect.
2. Moulsdale’s Simberger Royal Velvet of Berglowe

 JD (1,1)

PGD (5,0)

1.Moulsdale’s Kalizmar the Aviator of Berglowe

      Page 2

A young dog of substance. Tends to dip in the back when stood but held his topline on the move. In good hard condition and well muscled. In profile his head looks to be  in the correct ratio of skull to foreface. Moderately long neck flowing into his shoulders.  Straight front well-boned. Good width and development of chest. Gave an appearance of confidence and calm plus a desire to please his handler. Well presented. Handler moving at the correct speed to show off the dogs movement.

2.Roe’s Amazing Lord of the Rings Ginger Heaven at Parowhite (IMP POL)

Just loved this dogs head and expression.  Strong head but not heavy and in proportion. His coat gleamed in the sunshine  showing beautiful shades of red and brown. Straight firm back with rounded rump flowing into the tail. Long, slanting upper thigh. Moved correctly  but perhaps could be moved slightly quicker. I am not one to have dogs shown at great speed, pulling the dogs off balance and was pleased to see that no one did that today or moved the dog  stringing  it up tightly.

3Moulsdales’s Cookie Bombs Leo from the Old Oaks to Berglowe JW(imp Ger)

L.D.( 4,0) A nice class to judge.

1 Simmonds Skjaergaardens Dance Monkey Dance JW

So typical of his Scandinavian breeding line.  This dog exhibits balance whether standing or in motion. Still a young dog but he has adequate width and development of chest. Straight forelegs and bone in proportion to his size. Attractive head with ears set high. Firm back and straight. Moderate bend of stifle. Good ground covering movement neither over reaching nor  moving on too short a stride.  Attentive to his handlerD .C.C.

1. Bell’s Cleon Canis Giganotos

A three year old dog of good size.  Strong head but not heavy and a mane which is lacking in many Leonbergers these days. Well conditioned and

Page3

exercised to develop muscles in the shoulders, hind legs and back presenting a strong topline on the move and standing. In good coat. In my opinion this dog is beginning to ‘come together’ and filling out his frame.  R.C.C.

1. Jackson’s Lunahai Like a Hurricane for Reveraki

OD (2,1)

1. Simpson’s Purple Rain Chico Valuer at Dacfolke (imp POL)

A mature dog soon to be a Veteran.  Well balanced with good topline. Slightly arched skull Recognisable stop but not abrupt. Medium long neck merging gradually into shoulders.  Gives a sturdy muscular appearance. Well developed chest reaching to the elbows. Correct front with good width. This dog has a lot of virtues and characteristics  demanded by the standard. Moved correctly but not with the drive of the younger dogs.

VD (1, 0)

1. Frances ‘ Ivan Leo vom Zarendorf (imp. Rus.)

Recently into Veteran. A dog of good size and balanced in profile. Not very relaxed about the wind and blowing tapes. Front legs straight with good bone and feet. Close fitting elbows. Slightly domed skull. Oval shaped eyes. Broad hindquarters.  Gently sloping croup. Good length to coat  and mane. Not very smooth or well co-ordinated on the move. This could have been due to a lack of confidence in the ring.

PB (4,0)

1. Cummings Hillhaven Sail Away Sweet Sister ( ikc)

Difficult to  believe this bitch is only 9 months old. So mature in body and attitude. Well schooled and showing confidence and a sense of calm yet not  a stiff, bored statue on the stand. Well-balanced with a good topline, proper angulation and good body qualities. Attractive head with a kind

Page4

expression. Straight back with a strong loin. Correct bone for her size. Strong front pasterns. Good breadth to rear and stands parallel . She moved so well in this class and flowed round the ring . Unfortunately,  in the

challenge for Best Puppy she was not as sound on the move and looked as if she may have gone down on the uneven ground. Such a pity. In my opinion a quality puppy  . So promising. Good luck to the owner.

1. Charwin & Davies Jarno Bcoz Lions Roar at Debbolinby.

A 9 month old with lots of potential. A little upset by the wind and her surroundings. Pretty head with dark eyes. Smooth blend from neck to withers. Forelegs straight  with compact feet. Level back. Lovely rich red coat. Sympathetically handled.

1. Simpson’s Pagency Sukrin Bella

1. Simpson’s  Debbolinby Crafty Ideas for Simberger.

A nice young bitch who had left her clothes at home.  Feminine head with well set ears. Stood  with an alert expression.   Good reach of neck. Forelegs straight with tight elbows. Neat rounded feet.  Level back with moderately sloping croup. Carried tail well.

1. Simpson’s Pagency Sukrin Bella. As Special Beginners

PGB (1,0)

1.Watson’s Lunahai Little Girl Blue.

An attractive head, well proportioned. In profile her outline has the correct balance of head, neck and shoulders. Moderate angulation fore and aft. Not overdone in any way. Not yet two years old so has time to develop in breadth of chest. Presented in good-quality coat.  Moved smoothly at a good pace. Well handled. With luck, a star for the future.

L.B. (2,0)

1. Rose’s Bedeburn Geordie Hinnie

A 2 year old bitch with some maturing to do to fill her frame. Strong head with deep muzzle. Moderate length to neck. Adequate front and rear angulation. Ample bone  . Not quite the overall balance but won over 2nd on her movement.

1. Jackson’s Leonmoor Mabel for Reveraki

A 4 year old bitch. Feminine head with dark eye. Good depth to chest and firm, straight back . Sufficient substance for her size.  Reasonably angulated hindquarters with adequate bone. Shown in good coat.  Quite lethargic on the move .

OB( 4,1 )

1.Weaver’s Ch. Simden Maida Girl Like You.

Three quality bitches in this class. A delight to judge.   This bitch is so typical of the breed and has something special which is immediately apparent to the eyes. Her breeder, handler and owner all need to be congratulated. A well-balanced head with kind expression. Not over done in any way. Well placed dark eyes and ears set correctly. Attractive in profile , with strong neck blending smoothly into the withers. Her overall proportions are balanced with the correct length of leg.  Her movement is absolutely eye catching. Not only is she well constructed but she has the muscles to hold it all together. The handler moves her at the correct speed which gives the bitch the length of stride, the reach and timing of footfalls. She simply flows smoothly round the ring.  C.C. B.O.B. W.G.1

1. Heginbotham’s Sulandi Fallen Angel. JW (IMP IKC)

I have given this bitch a R.C.C.  a few years ago.  She was unlucky to meet up against the winner in prime form today. A bitch of good size . Quite a strong head but in proportion. Medium sized ears set close to the head.

Page6.

Mature body and strong topline. Broad loins. Excellent bone  with well developed quarters.  On the stack, not standing quite parallel behind. Moving close behind today and not showing sufficient drive. R.C.C.
