LEEDS CHAMPIONSHIP DOG SHOWMrs Joanne WOODHEAD
Judging:
Thank you to the committee for inviting me to judge, and to the exhibitors for their support, allowing me the pleasure of going over some truly lovely exhibits. My appreciation also goes to my stewards, whose efficiency kept the ring running smoothly.
We were fortunate to have a good‑sized ring, giving the dogs ample space to move, though it was a little uneven in places, which required handlers to be mindful of their footing. It was a lovely day, though not ideal for seeing the silvertips at their best. A blustery wind rattled the marquee at intervals, unsettling a few exhibits and momentarily affecting ear carriage and concentration.
Some of the exhibits today were of a similar merit that they could easily swap places. Several young ones are coming through with promise, maturing nicely and showing the foundations of correct type, construction, and movement.

Nice outline, well constructed, balanced and proportionate. A feminine bitch with a broad muzzle, without coarseness, eyes almond-shaped, obliquely set of correct colour, well furred ears contributing to an overall pleasing expression. Plush tail, however, I would have liked more length. Moved well.

An 8‑year‑old feminine bitch with a pleasing expression showing the benefits of experience and correct construction. Today she was distracted by the wind rattling the marquee which affected her ear carriage and focus. Once settled, she regained composure and presented well. Good pigmentation, correct bite, eyes of correct colour set correctly, ears well furred and when she used them properly they framed the typical Sammy expression. Moved well. RBCC
