LEEDS CHAMPIONSHIP DOG SHOW

I would like to thank the committee for asking me to judge Miniature Bull Terriers at their show, and for their generous hospitality. 

MINIATURE BULL TERRIERS 

The quality was very good and there were several times when placings could have been reversed. Size is getting better but we must concentrate on improving movement and handling (a good handler can make a dog!). Mouths also are an issue that we need to address.

PUPPY DOG (1-0)

THRYDINGS HRODWULF

7 month old brindle puppy of good size, make & shape. Pleasing head with good profile & fill. Correct eye & ear placement and correct mouth with strong clean teeth. Lovely body, good topline & broad chest & good shoulders, nice turn of stifle, tight feet.

Stood alone but could easily have held his own amongst others. I think he has all the hallmarks of being a promising dog. BP

White dog with eye patches. At just turned a year old, this promising dog has a lovely head, good eye & ear placement. Lovely expression. Well muscled body, nice topline, good size. Moved better going away than coming.

TOPASBULLY LUBOMIR AT ARCANUM

Nearly 2 year old brindle & white dog with nice head, correct eye & ear placement, good mouth but one tight canine. Well bodied, nice topline. Moved okay.

LIMIT DOG (2-0)

1 SALVUSLINE AGAINST ALL ODDS WITH ARIBAX.

A chunky, well marked brindle & white dog, just turned a year old and showing great promise. Lovely profiled head, good eye and ear placement, slight mouth fault. Well made throughout. RDCC

2.SALVUSLINE AMBER ARROW AMONG NAPIER

(Mr M & Mrs T Fletcher)

Litter brother to 1 but lighter more terrier type. These two could easily have changed places today if this one had been calmer as he was very unsettled when moving.

A lovely boy with a beautiful sweeping head, good ear carriage, and piercing eye. Nicely made throughout. Just wish I could have seen him move.

Almost 2 year old brindle & white dog of great promise. Well bodied, strongly made, and you can see the purpose this dog’s made for. A lovely head with sweeping profile, correct ears & piercing eyes. A lovely broad chest, well ribbed, good topline which he held on the move. A pleasure to watch him perform. DCC

A 2 year old, nice sized brindle & white dog. Lovely head with good profile, correct eyes & ears. Good make & shape.

1 THRYDINGS FYXEN

(Milner Dr J)

7 months old brindle & white puppy in gleaming condition, and who should make the grade. Lovely small (correct) size girl who caught my eye immediately. Lovely sweeping profile, deep set dark eyes, tiny correct ears. Correct body, with lovely topline, held on the move. Needs more ringcraft to make the most of her. Lost out to her brother in challenge for best puppy, however this may have been due to her handler’s fall just prior, which may have spooked her. Hope Dr Milner is feeling better after her fall. 

2 ARIBAX FIRECRACKER**

(Martin Mr R & Mackie Miss T)

Another lovely brindle & white puppy, this one 8 months old. This girl is a bigger, chunkier type and again presented in beautiful condition. Lovely head with good profile.  A well conditioned body. Bit short in upper arm but this is completely usual at this age. I’m sure this girl will get the recognition she deserves.

A beautiful black & white bitch, only just over 12 months old. Absolutely eye catching and in gleaming condition, well done to her owner. Lovely head with sweeping profile, correct ear carriage and nice eye. Well toned. body with lovely chest & shoulder placement, nice topline and held on the move, and her movement was very good. 

2 PIXELITED BLACK ORKID OF WORZELESE

14 months old very pleasing black & white bitch in lovely condition. A very similar bitch to 1. Lovely head, nice profile, good eye & ear placement. Nice body, good chest shoulders, & topline. Moved well. Shame to come up against two lovely bitches in this class and the next.

2 year old solid tri of correct size and in excellent condition. Beautiful head (and the best mouth today!), correct eye & ear. Well bodied with good chest, shoulders & topline. Moved well, keeping her topline on the move.

2 year old white bitch with dark head markings. Lovely head with sweeping profile, good mouth, nice eye, correct ear carriage. Well muscled but still feminine. Kept her handler on her toes with her lively attitude.

Beautiful tricolour bitch of lovely make and shape and correct size. Lovely head with sweeping profile.  Nice small ears, dark eyes, good mouth. Well muscled body with good front & rear construction and neat feet. Moved well and held topline on the move. A pleasure to go over this lovely lady. BCC

Very smart brindle and white bitch in super condition. Lovely head with well placed ears and dark eyes. Good well muscled body, lovely chest & shoulders. Moved well.

Always a favourite class of mine as I love to see the older bitches (and dogs) enjoying their day out.

9 year old very spritely bitch thoroughly showing she’s still definitely got it! A very smart brindle and white bitch with lovely head, correct eye & ear and mouth good for her age. Good body and moved well. Very close contender for the Reserve Ticket!
