I very much enjoyed this appointment, made easier by my efficient stewards Hazel & Ian. The run of hot weather appeared to have had an affect on some coats, with several exhibits who were out of coat or between coats, so they did not have the finishing touch to take them to higher honours.

SPECIAL BEGINNERS DOG/BITCH (1/1)

1st: Chapman’s EMIKO YUKIKO FOR SEKIMIYO Pleasing head although could have had a darker eye. Well placed ears, good bite. Reasonable angulation either end. Black pigment. Good tail set & carriage. Cat feet. Moves true behind. A little longer in loin than ideal. BSB

PUPPY DOG (3/1)

1st: Turner’s CHARNEY ECHOS FROM ABOVE VIA MAYUMI Very smart pup in excellent well presented coat, which is still clearing. Balanced wedge shape head. Correct shape dark eyes, good bite. Black pigment. Correct body shape & size. A bit unsettled on the move.

PUPPY BITCH (4/4)

Difficult decisions between 4 lovely pups & I was splitting hairs between them. It is so good for the future of a breed to have such promising youngsters.
1st: Jones’s LLWYNI BLOOMING LOVELY 6m old baby of correct shape & size. Sweet head & expression with correct shape dark eye, moderate stoop, good neat ears, correct scissor bite. In good well presented coat for age. Well set & carried tail. Steady & balanced on the move. BP

OPEN BITCH (4/4)

Lovely class with quality bitches who could change places on a different day.

1st: Anderson’s GB & IR CH GEORGEGLEN FIND YOUR FIRE (AN CH 24,25, CJW 2, CW 24,25) I loved this bitch as soon as I saw her. Beautiful head & expression with correct shape dark eye, moderate stop, well placed strong neat ears, correct scissor bite. Head well carried on moderately angled shoulders. Balanced body of correct shape & size. Moderate hind angulation. Super feet. Well set & carried tail. Sound & free moving. She had unfortunately left her top coat at home, but a lovely free moving bitch who I could have easily taken home. RCC
2nd: Gibson’s CH KAIAKI ANGEL EYES JW Another lovely girl who was going through a coat change, so not quite the finish she could have. Lovely shape & size. Pretty wedge shaped head with sweet expression. Correct shape dark eye, scissor bite, moderate stop. Good ears. Moderate angulation either end, balanced throughout. Tail well set & carried. Sound & free moving. A great deal to like, but she had to settle for 2nd place today.
3rd: Aston, Aston & Bowen’s CH GLAMGLOW'S COTTON CANDY JW

VETERAN BITCH (3/2)

Both of these girls were a credit to their owners.

1st: Turner’s MAYUMI'S TOO HOT TO HANDLE 9yr old in excellent well presented coat. Good head with correct eyes, ears & bite. Cat feet, good pigment. I just preferred the overall balance of this free moving girl.
2nd: Chapman & Chapman’s BANGLE KILNHALL Another 9 year old. Eye a little round & could be darker so not the expression of winner. Well set & carried tail. In excellent well presented coats. Not quite as true on the move as 1.
