I have to commend the Society & Committee for their organisational skills combining both the 49th show & this year’s show, it can’t have been an easy task but everything seemed to run smoothly, thankfully the weather was kind. Not a large entry but I was very pleased with the quality throughout the classes & thank the exhibitors for the chance to assess their dogs. I was thrilled to see my BOB win Gundog Group 3 under Richard Bott, well done!

1st: 11488 CLARK, Ms Jan Affilato Jump The Gun. Good head & expression with the desired divergence of head planes, ochre eye colour, ear set correct. Scissor bite & good depth to muzzle. Prominent occiput & good crest to neck, shoulder blades set well apart. Correct top & underline with good tailset & carriage, thick skin. Prominent prosternum & good angles fore & aft with good oval boned legs. He was well muscled all through & moved very steadily round the ring. I preferred his coat texture & colour to that of his litter brother who took second. In the lineup, I was very happy to award him the RDCC, but was very disappointed he didn’t stay to challenge for BP.
2nd: 11484 BEECHAM, Miss Donna & SHARP, Mr Lee Affilato Jump With Style At Rydonmist. Another stylish pup from this kennel. Lovely expression, correct head planes, scissor bite, depth of muzzle. Correct topline & tailset and carriage, well muscled all through & covered the ground well. Good bone & prominent prosternum, balanced angles front & rear. Two very nice pups who will change places often.

1st: 11486 BURROWS, Mrs Sharon Quebaikei Tartan'n'tweed. Smart looking brown roan dog with the brown being a good shade, balanced outline. Grouchy expression, good head planes, large spongy nose, correct scissor bite, deep muzzle. Good topline, tailset & carriage, good bone, big feet & thick skin. Not carrying much coat but it was a harsh texture. Well muscled & moved with purpose around the ring.

1st: 11490 DUNCAN, Mrs Susan Diggmere Tiger Swallowtail Jw Shcex Osw JW ShCEx OSW. Upstanding orange roan dog in his prime, square balanced outline. Typical head, lovely roman nose, masculine expression but not coarse, ochre eye colour, ears set on level with eyes. Short muscular neck with good crest, shoulder blades set well apart, excellent topline, tailset & carriage, good underline. Balanced angles fore & aft, well muscled, moved out on a positive stride. Strong bone & big feet. A bit lacking in coat but what he had was the correct coarse texture, lovely thick skin. Pleased to award him DCC.
2nd: 11489 CLARK, Ms Jan & SHARP, Mrs Claire & SHARP, Mr Lee Sh Ch Affilato You Can Bank On It JW. Top class male with a lovely expression enhanced by good furnishings & correct eye colour. Strong neck, with a good crest & slight divided dewlap. Good coat texture & thick skin, coat slightly soft on legs. Well muscled powerful mover, but felt he lost his topline slightly on the stack & he is a tad longer in loin than 1st place. Tailset is good but he does tend to flag it slightly on the move.  A worthy Ch, but at almost 3 years old, I feel there is still more to come in what is a slow maturing breed, he will have many more successful days.

Balanced in outline, topline, tailset & carriage all good, good belly line. Good musculature which showed in her steady movement. Decent bone & neat feet. Class 533 JB (1 Entries) Abs: 0
1st: 11491 HUTT, Miss S Karankawa Kashira. Well furnished face with a kind eye of good colour, ears set on level with eyes. Divergent head planes, spongy nose & scissor bite with good depth to muzzle. Balanced outline although slightly longer in loin at present, decent topline & tailset. Carrying a heavier coat than some, but it was a great texture, thick skin. Good musculature & decent movement although she was checking out what had been over the ground previously, shortening the lead helped.
