Judging: Hound Group

Many thanks to the Officers & committee of  the City of Birmingham CA for the invite to judge at this well organised & friendly show.  

The Hound Group was one of the strongest I have had the pleasure of judging & to make a cut of just 8 dogs was a very difficult task. Dogs which didn’t make the cut could easily have been in the final four on another occasion.  

My winner was the enchanting PBGV Ch Soletrader Fomo. She has the most beautiful head & expression, super construction which shows in her sound & true stride and presentation of the highest order. She is a real Madame & gives her owner a very hard time but her quality shines through. I just loved her.  

2nd. Ch Caredig Mafioso, Irish Wolfjound who needs no introduction. An upstanding stallion hound in his prime, he has a masculine head with kind gentle expression. Soundly built with substance & balance & an air of quality. At times he doesn’t make the most of himself but today he was on top form & moved & showed to perfection. 

3rd. Int Ch DK Ch Fin NL Ch Swed Ger HR Lux Ch Czech In. This Greyhound boy was new to me but I’ve since learned he has taken Europe by storm. He has an exquisite head & expression, curvy body & excellent musculature. On the move he is sound & true with a low reaching stride that covers the ground with ease. Another with super balance & quality throughout. 

4th. Swed Int Ch Vaskurs Stegosaurus Gisadotter. This Pharaoh Hound girl is balanced with moderate angles unlike many in the breed, her head planes are correct & she has a keen alert expression. Super thorough the body with great conditioning & musculature. On the move she is sound & true & covers the ground with a free flowing stride.
