Judging: Hound Group, Whippet

How nice it was to judge in such a pleasant atmosphere. There was applause and congratulations in both rings, one being MWC Ch Sh, the other Birmingham City who had two judges. The ring was large enough to accommodate the lovely entry and the green carpet lightened the venue & showed dogs off with ease.

Limit D was a very hard contested class, full of quality dogs and I thank you for the opportunity to go over such lovely dogs.

Whippet Dog
Class 1181 SBD (5 Entries) Abs: 1
1st:  FOXWELL'S Barnesmore The Lion King Of Redfoxia,  pleasing bone & structure, good head & neck into correct topline. Used rear angles to drive in profile movement.
2nd:  SPICER'S Jothryn Muchacho, he has good depth & infill of chest & moved soundly but appeared very immature for age
3rd: 2422 BEATTIE-NASH'S Railfield Rainstorm

Class 1182 VD (4 Entries) Abs: 0
1st: RUSSELL'S Glantam Genesis At Arjuna, good body shape & balance to angles. Liked his head, neck a little thicker than I liked but he presented free flowing movement in profile.
2nd: MYERS/PILKINGTON'S, Supeta's Show And Tell Astrazone, lovely daisy cutting action with front extension. True behind & held topline well in profile. However he did not display his topline to advantage when stood.
3rd: HOLLAND'S Ch Elmanash Glenfidditch

Class 1183 MPD (4 Entries) Abs: 0
1st: MARSTON-POLLOCK'S Gingerbread Soulad At Falconcrag (Imp), good bone but needs more weight to fill his frame. At this time he is a little flat backed but will, with maturity gain the correct topline. He was the soundest mover in class & flowed in profile.
2nd: ANDERSON'S Zoraden Rulebreaker, well balanced throughout with good body shape & strength of bone. Not quite as tidy in front movement as winner.
3rd: PERKINS' Zetor Silkridge Figgy Pudding With Zeglynn

Class 1184 PD (4 Entries) Abs: 1
1st: PRICE'S Kierpark It's Now Or Never Among Silkdance, very sound to & fro with best profile movement in class. Strong in bone, good balance all through pleasing topline when relaxed, in good coat. BPD & BP
2nd: FOXWELL'S Cobyco Capture The Look At Redfoxia, slighter than winner but has pleasing body shape with enough depth of chest, good underline & topline. Balance of thigh to 2nd thigh with muscle to match.
3rd:  LEVERETT'S Whippiness Eyes Down

Class 1185 JD (11 Entries) Abs: 0
1st: MALLINSON'S Edenwhip Oregano, well balanced quarters front & back, good ribbing & length of loin. Pleasing depth of chest & infill. Liked his balance of thigh & 2nd thigh. Kept topline well in profile.
2nd: PRICE'S Kierpark It's Now Or Never Among Silkdance
3rd: CRAIG/ COULTER'S Collooney Huckleberry

Class 1186 YD (5 Entries) Abs: 1
1st: WOOD'S Ardencote Keep Dreaming, correct head & neck with crest, well laid shoulder & return giving forechest. Well sprung rib & length of loin to well balanced rear quarters. Moved oundly & with purpose.
2nd: LUTHER/BUCKLAND'S Bohosoul The Crow At Bonnarfyfe, he has a bigger frame than winner but well put together. He is just wider across the chest than I like but his movement is sound and he has correct topline standing & on move.
3rd: WILLEY/HOFSTETTER'S Lawleymoon Elba Castillo

Class 1187 GD (6 Entries) Abs: 1
1st: FOXWELL'S Barnesmore The Lion King Of Redfoxia
2nd: REES/JONES' Kierpark Devil In Disguise, good strength of bone & balance to angles. His movement was just too erratic today.
3rd: RODGERS' Wentvalley Pied Piper JW

Class 1188 PGD (9 Entries) Abs: 0
1st: GLITHERO/ PHILO'S Palmik Against All Odds For Coppershell, a well presented package with many of the attributes required by BS. Lovely balanced head with good underjaw, good length of neck into well laid shoulder, return of upper arm, good bladed bone, good feet, short nails. Pushed hard for CC. RCC.
2nd: MARTIN'S Bowdonia Go The Distance For Stalwart, pleasing head & eye with enough foreface, good length of neck, correct length of rib & strength of loin, balance to rear angles, moved well in profile.
3rd:  ALLANSSON/ MACDONALD'S Zoraden Simply The Zest Of Macalldon JW

Class 1189 LD (14 Entries) Abs: 4
1st: BRODIE/ OWEN'S Wolfscastle Crown Jules, quality throughout from the tip of his nose to end of his tail. In super condition & coat standing four square and correct feet with gentle rise over loin. He moved with drive & purpose holding topline in profile. CC & BOB. Made the cut in the group & had many favourable comments.
2nd:  TURNBULL'S Ticks The Boxes At Turnstone, similar to winner but not quite the spark when moving.
3rd:  WAYMAN'S Ranveli Beach Boy At Scarletfair

Class 1190 OD (10 Entries) Abs: 2
1st: WILTON-CLARK'S Ch Shalfleet Oliver Twist JW, I have admired him from a puppy & now having the opportunity to go over him he did not disappoint. Well constructed with balance fore & aft in super condition & muscle tone he moved with soundness & purpose.
2nd: JONES' Jothryn Johnny Be Good JW, took my eye on initial profile movement with his elegance & deportment, well balanced throughout with enough muscle tone. liked his balance of rib to loin and his thigh 2nd thigh ratio & his short hock which he used to advantage when moving.
3rd:  YACOBY WRIGHT'S Ch Cobyco Catch Your Eye

Class 1191 GCD (2 Entries) Abs: 0
1st: PRICE'S Kierpark It's Now Or Never Among Silkdance
