Recent opinions have suggested that low entry numbers equate with poor quality. I'm pleased to report that this was definitely not the case today. My winners would have been equally impressive in a much higher entry number. Pleased to see my BOB being shortlisted in the group as well as my Veteran and Sp Beginner winners gaining a place in their respective Group. I think toplines may be levelling out somewhat and the desired slight slope is getting harder to find. Coats were in great order with the coarse guard hair doing its job effectively while dense undercoats were of correct depth and made it difficult to detect skin underneath - such an important feature in a breed originating in a harsh climate.

Ring surface created a challenge at times (possibly more so for handlers) but everyone seemed to adapt as required.

1st: 2443 PAGE, Mrs Marina D'alkontres Don't Stop Believin' Cedarcreek (Imp). Promising, playful 8 month with very attractive, typy outline that showed off a strong slightly arched neck, subtle slope of topline and enough leg and bone to hint at the powerful adult to come. Lovely dark almond eye set obliquely, with correctly set back small ears enhancing the entire headpiece. As expected, certain aspects in relation to control over legs and pasterns were delightfully random. Excellent quality in progress here.

Class 1185 PD (1 Entries) Abs: 0
1st: 2439 BROUARD, Mrs Nicola Anne Icycool Xavier To Orsamals. 10 month old who is well grown and doesn't need to add much more height to his current overall balance. Gives an impression of power with great bone, depth of body, strength of loin and superb drive from the rear. Head is equally large with powerful impression - broad in skull but with muzzle well balanced by its size in relation to whole head. Eye a bit round for my preference. Great neck too.  Some maturity to come of course, but pretty well ticking all boxes at this age. A pleasure to see him moving so freely with latent power and that lovely plume of a tail adding the final touch. BPIB.

1st: 2445 PARTRIDGE-BEBB, Mrs Victoria & PARTRIDGE-BEBB, Mr Kaskae Show Me The Monet Avec Keighanya ShCEx. Another impressively built boy who ticked the breed standard boxes in so many ways. First impression is that of strength and power without coarseness. Close on to that is the balance that stands out when seeing him stacked - an attractive head with large skull, perfectly set ears, and masculine in jaw - being broad and well matched overall to skull size. Good to see the subtle slope of back, strong loin of a length that gives him just enough flexibility in movement. Hardly surprising that his well muscled limbs and broad hocks gave him so much impetus on the move. A close decision today but (probably due to excitement) a slightly too tight tail on the move paid the penalty. RCC.

Class 1189 OD (1 Entries) Abs: 0
1st: 2440 ELLIS - PAYNE, Mrs Sue Ch Chayo One In A Billion. What a powerhouse this boy is! However had the right amount of strength with manoeuvrability to give him the top spot today. Such a lovely head with a small but definite stop before the strong, broad jaw and excellent dentition. Well set and shaped ears, typically carried back on the move but in the alert, forward position when standing. Body is powerfully made with appropriate depth and good loins firmly muscled. An optical illusion that halted me briefly was the impression of topline rising to tail root - hands on proved this to be a thicker, denser amount of quality coat that disguised the pelvis to croup area. And speaking of coat, he really had the best coarse coat and thick undercoat in this entry. Correct moderate angulation which created the breed specific effortless movement (as designed for original purpose) with strong broad hocks showing efficient drive. Front pasterns could be a tad more upright for my ideal but overall he couldn't be beaten today. CC and BOB.

Class 1190 VD NO ENTRIES

Class 1191 SBD/B (2 Entries) Abs: 0
1st: 2436 ANDERSON, Miss Michelle Kaskae Seine Sational At Bluekaneq. A powerful well shaped boy who kept his handler on his toes! Imposing head with strong muzzle and well set ears. Dentition had strong teeth  but could have been a touch tidier perhaps. In outline he displayed a correct topline and hands-on had very good muscle tone. Hindquarters broad and hocks strong. Forequarters correct in moderate angles although not quite finished in chest yet so forelegs not always following the straight line to ground. Moved soundly despite his hi-jinks. Tail set well but a little tighter than preferred on the move. BSpBeginner.
2nd: 2446 QUERU, Miss Laurelle & TOMBLESON, Mr Richard Orsamals Mademoiselle Koda. At 14 months, this girl has hit the teenage stage where all bets are off! Head is well proportioned with smallish ears set widely and muzzle at the right amount of strength for head size. While she is balanced at the moment with nothing out of sync she is at a developmental phase where the best is yet to come. Coat was dense with correct undercoat but slightly short of length of guard hair. Bone to match body size and excellent in pasterns - almost vertical. Would have preferred a bit more width to hock. Moved easily but with tail a little tight. Lovely affectionate temperament. Will look out for her when maturity has worked its magic.

1st: 2437 BROUARD, Mrs Nicola Anne Ch Jsy Ch Sutarka Coco Chanel At Orsamals PdH No surprise at all to see that this quality 9yr girl has her title. Made a beautiful shape standing and moving (even when she was throwing in the odd ‘yahoo’ moment with utter enjoyment!).Loved her head with perfect balance of ear set/carriage, eye shape, and strength of muzzle. Neck strong and proud of ideal length to give the best balance. Body of good build with enough loin to assist effective movement. Tail set right and carried well on the move. Was very very tempted by her in the line up. It seems unkind to say that her slight tendency to a matronly shape compared to younger dogs was the decider but not a slight on her outstanding quality at all. BVIB

1st: 2447 SMITH, Mrs J E & SMITH, Miss J Snowshoes Light The Way. Lots of type here and another who is undoubtedly going to the top when finished. A very appealing head with small well set ears, well shaped and set rich-brown eyes. Correct moderate angulation front and rear with excellent strong hock. Topline good with well muscled loin. Tail set and carried well. Movement was effortless with great use of power without exaggeration. Just a fraction wider going away today. I'm sure her day will come.

Class 1197 LB NO ENTRIES

Class 1198 OB (3 Entries) Abs: 1
1st: 2448 SMITH, Mrs J E & SMITH, Miss J Snowshoes Sweet Symphony.. Not yet 2yrs and another good example from this kennel. Loved her head with that good size muzzle which perfectly balanced the broad skull and small defined stop. Beautifully shaped eye and textbook ear set combined to create the desired ‘look’. Body-wise she has plenty of strength and depth and I can imagine how well she would cope with sledding. Correct moderation of angles which made her movement look so easy in profile. Coming to she showed off her lovely forehand, going away had obvious power but the tiniest bit wider if I am to pick holes but still worthy of a title in my opinion. CC. 
2nd: 2444 PAGE, Mrs Marina & PAGE, Mr Patrick Ch The Magician Bloody Mary Cedarcreek (Imp) It. 6yr at her best and looking the part. Not surprised to see she also has her title as her type is indisputable with such an attractive head, well balanced in body and has the required strength of bone without coarseness. Neck could have been a fraction more arched but the strength was certainly there. Body well muscled and useful length of loin. From the front her feet occasionally showed a little untidiness when free standing but moving was foot perfect. A well set and carried tail gave her the finishing touches as she moved. RCC today but not a reflection on her quality.
