Windsor Championship Show - Statement

We at Windsor Dog Show Society are committed to producing our show from 1st - 4th July 2021.

In these uncertain and unprecedented times, we are working tirelessly to provide a show that will aim to cater for everyone who enjoys our sport and will be held within the Government guidelines, prevailing at the time of the show, to keep Exhibitors, Judges, Officials, Trade stand holders and Ground staff as safe as possible.

Naturally, many adaptations have had to be made to ensure that we comply with current Covid 19 guidelines and whilst we are working ceaselessly with our partners, we will be unable to provide all the features normally associated with our show. We have found it necessary to implement changes as follows:

  • The show will be an ‘Outdoor Event’ and you are advised to plan ahead for inclement weather.

  • Only Show rings will be covered to offer limited ‘wet weather’ accommodation.

  • We have applied to the KC for dispensation from Benching.

  • Larger space around every ring to accommodate social distancing.

  • Separate Entrance and Exit gates.

  • Start times will be published for each breed and exhibitors will be admitted to the showground at the designated time.

  • Ringside seating will not be provided. Exhibitors are advised to provide only what is necessary for their dogs within the socially distanced zone adjacent to their breed ring.

  • Please note gazebos/tents are not permitted.

  • There will be no cash handling on the day, so we must advise exhibitors to pre purchase car parking and catalogues with entries as there will be no admission for vehicles without a car parking pass and catalogues will not be available for purchase on the day.

  • Social distancing in spectator, dining, administrative areas and throughout the venue.

  • To limit numbers on the showground there will be no general public gate and no spectator/unentered dogs or dog creche.

  • Limited Trade Stand spaces.

  • Covid compliant toilet facilities.

  • Due to space restrictions imposed by enlarging the showground and car parks, it is regretted that the caravan site is reserved for Officials, Judges and workers only.

Schedules will only be available online at Higham Press website or by post from the Secretary. We encourage exhibitors to enter online where possible to limit paper handling.
To limit numbers on the showground and avoid the need for capping entries, exhibitors are requested to observe the breed timings published on entry passes and to depart from the venue once their judging is completed.

Challenge Certificates will be available for all qualifying breeds.
We will be hosting 17 Breed Club Shows.
Regrettably we will not be hosting all stakes classes, BPIS and BVIS competitions this year.

Whilst there are many changes that we have to implement this year, with your continued help and support, we are all committed to providing the best show possible in the circumstances.
